kaeleigh-the next morning, i woke up and calum wasn't there. i sat up in bed with a yawn, until i realized my best friend's spot on the bed was empty.
no, my boyfriend's spot.
a smile spread across my face as i pulled the covers back and got up. the wood floor was cold on my feet, so i quickly made it to the hallway. as i descended the stairs, i heard a loud shout of, "fûck!"
furrowing my eyebrows, i rushed into the kitchen. calum stood, shirtless, with his back facing me, dropping a pan into the sink. he sighed, running a hand through his hair, his muscles flexing as he did so.
i frowned, quietly making my way behind him and wrapping my arms around his waist. he tensed, until realizing it was me.
"what's wrong?" i asked quietly into his ear.
"i tried making you breakfast," he pouted, "but i burned the eggs."
"i hate eggs," i crinkled my nose. calum closed his eyes in frustration, letting out a sigh. i tilted my head to the side, turning around to face him. "cal? what's wrong?"
"i forgot you hated eggs." he stated, eyes still closed. "i wanted to wake up and surprise you and be a good boyfriend and shît. but i cooked you eggs and burned them."
"cal," i said softly, placing a hand on his cheek. "it's okay. you are a good boyfriend, and shît."
calum continued to frown, and i though for a moment. then i took his hand, and steered him over to the counter. i patted the top, "sit."
"wha-"
"sit." i repeated, and calum jumped up onto the counter in confusion. "i'll make breakfast, and you can sit and watch."
calum rolled his eyes, but i stopped him from making a comment by pecking his lips. "hush. now, where are the bowls?"
he didn't answer, but i knew where to find a bowl anyway. i got a medium sized one, and began to collect various items from the refrigerator. i mixed everything together in a bowl, and got a pan to cook the pancakes in.
i stood in front of calum, and dipped my finger in the bowl. i held it up to his face, and smeared the batter on his cheek. he let out a squeak, and i giggled as he attempted to wipe it off, but missed.
"fûck you," calum pouted, and i grinned.
i stood on my toes, and slowly licked the batter from his cheek. i left a kiss where it stopped by his ear, and whispered, "anytime."
calum's face was red as i turned back around to cook the pancakes.
ten minutes later, i managed to produce a large stack of pancakes. i set the plate on the table, along with syrup, and turned to calum expectantly.
he raised an eyebrow, and i rolled my eyes. "come eat, you dork."
"why do you always call me a dork?" he asked, slowly walking over to the table. "i'm your boyfriend, and your best friend. i'm supposed to get something like 'babe' or 'sweetheart.' yet you call me a dork."
i stared at him for a second before bursting into laughter. calum frowned at me, and i stopped to grin at him. "sorry. i call you a dork because you are a dork. but i use names like dork, idiot, asshołe as terms of affection. i don't mean it. sorry, cal."
calum broke into a smile, "oh."
"now eat before they get cold, you dork."
