That first day in LA was perfect. They were running on the newfound life source that is LA - the adrenaline from the sun, the warmth, the saltwater air.
The smell of gardenias and jacarandas filled the air.
I could stay here forever, she thought to herself. And looking at Milo's eyes, she had a feeling he was feeling the same thing.
They pciked up a rental - a red mustang convertible of course - and Milo drove them straight toeh Chateau. Which Chateau you ask? Why, the Chateau Marmont of course!
They checked in, and made love on the bed, with the balcony open and the osund of birds chirping.
Then they drove to get in-n-out - a guilty pleasure and a must in LA.
Then, of ocurse, the took Sunset Boulevard straight down to the ocean, where they watched the sun set straight into the water.
"This is incredible," Isabelle said, turning to Milo. Sitting on the beach, the sand between their toes, his arm around her.
"There's more," he said, kissing her on her forehead.
Moments like these, Isabelle thought, make it all worth it.
They got back into the car, and Milo took the PCH up to Malibu. They dorveo n the road paralle ot hte ocean, until they got t oa rewtaurnat, rihgt on the oacena. Nothing in betweem.
As they parked, Milo pointed up to the cliffs,
"They say Bob Dylan lives there," then he put his hands back in his pockets very causally.
Isabelle stopped and looked up, mouth ajar.
Dylan was her favourite musician, and Milo knew that. She wanted to kiss both of htem at that moment.
They ordered seafood and dessert and the whole number, staying right until close.
As they were taking the last sips of hteir dirinks, fingers intertwined oht e table, Milo looked at her with a new sort of intent.
"Think you can keep yourself busy this week, while I'm in the studio?" Milo asked, looking more seriou than she thought he whouslve been.
Isabelle nodded, licking hte last of hte tiramisu on her spoon.
"Of course, its not my first rodeo keeping myslef busy while youre awya if htats waht you mean," Isabelle responded half jokingly.
Milo remained serious, "I know, but its a new city..."
"Yeha, it'll be a nice change. I'll catchup on myreadings. We're just here for a week, right?"
"Actualy, I've been meaning to talk to you about hthat. There was nothero pportunity that came up...in Vegas, so if you wouldn't ocmpletley hatei t how woudl you feel about going to Vegas at the end of the week, then we can spend thre weekend there?"
Isabelle paused, considering it, pretending to furrow her brow, She oculd see Milo feeling nervousl, the nshe broke into a smile. "Are you kiodding me? Of ocurse, at this rate I never want this trip to end!"
Milo relaxed, a little, but she hada sense he wasn't tellign her everyhting. Hoeve,r she diecidedn ot to upsh it.
"Good," he said, squeezing her hand, because my trsyted agent Benny put me - us - up at the Bellagio, you'll love it."
She leaned over the table, whispering, "can't wait," before giving him a kiss.
The made it back to the Chateau Marmont, at midnight, where they made lvoe one more time before falling int oa deep, unitnerrupted slumber. Holding hands.
