16 May, 2015 Day 31

I sip on my coffee as I lean up against my balcony staring out at the ocean. Dean and I hadnt spoken a word to each other since the day before yesterdays event.

What did happen was he called that girl from the corn dog stand and I wasn't able to sleep half the night yesterday nor today.

I look out at the crashing waves and smile. Today would be a perfect day to surf.

I here a door slide open and I look beside me to Deans balcony and see him come outside stretching in his pajama pants without a shirt. Same thing as me. I mumble to myself quietly opening my sliding glass door and wandering inside.

I put on my swim trunks and brush my teeth. I make my way to the kitchen and I mentally groan as I see Dean sitting there. I walk past him putting my empty cup in the dish washer.

"Morning" I hear him say. I mumble a morning before walking back to my room out and down the stairs of my balcony into the fresh air. I stretch and do my morning workout before starting to jog down the beach. I take a deep breath and jog down the shoreline. It was quite empty besides the casual hippies smoking weed near the rocks. After 20 minutes of joggin I turn around and jog back taking 15 minutes.

I see Dean sitting on the edge of the water looking out into the ocean. At once I realize how harsh I actually was with him day before yesterday. He was just worrying or if not looking out for me. I sigh running a hand through my hair. I walk up to him. He continues staring out into the ocean not noticing my presence.

"Mind if I sit?" He looks up at me briefly and looks back.

"Go ahead" I sit down next to him. Our legs a couple of inches apart.

"Sorry for the other day, I overreacted. You were just looking out for me I guess" I say looking out noticing some seagulls.

"No don't apologize, I was really the one that shouldn't have said anything. I mean, you were right, I shouldn't care" I clench my teeth and sigh.

"But I do, so sorry" I raise my eye brow in surprise but I don't look at him even though I feel his gaze on me.

I open my mouth to say something but no words come out. There is nothing for me to say really.

"No I really did overreact" I end up saying.

"Eh whatever, that was the other day, today's new, so are we gonna go surfing or what?" I glance over at him and laugh.

"What?" I lay down on the sand chuckling.

"Nothing, it just funny how you move on so quickly" he smiles and shrugs.

"I'm that cool" I stand up and we walk over to house.

"There's two surf boards in the living room" we walk over grabbing them and walking out again.

"Where are Gabriel and Sam?" I ask noticing their absence.

"They went out for a Sabriel date" I laugh at Sabriel.

"Oh yeah I came up with that name for them like 4 weeks ago" Dean says proudly. We go out to the edge and once we are prepared we swim out. I see a wave coming but I duck under it. It didn't look right.

I kept ducking waves for a couple of minutes until I got to the perfect spot and sat on my surf board. I see Dean like 20 feet away from me. He turns to me and smile looking at the incoming wave. He turns back and winks. I laugh. As the wave gets closer I position myself and once it gets to me I stand up balancing out. I laugh. Its been a long time. I see a flash beside me and one minute I'm looking at Dean the next minute I sputtering and swimming up next to Dean. We laugh getting back on our boards.
