"Saransh let go of my hand!" I shout at him, twisting my wrist in his grip as he drags me out of the venue. It's raining outside, small drizzling raindrops falling on my skin. The loud music and chatter of the guests seem to fade away, replaced by a deafening roar in my ears. "I don't know why you're doing this!"
He doesn't answer, just pulls me harder, his hold on my hand tightening until it feels like it might bruise.
His knuckles are still coated in blood, the rain drops washing it away slowly. What he did inside shocked me, I never knew his anger could be so terrifying.
"Saransh STOP!" I scream again, desperate, and stand still, my heels digging into the wet grass as I refuse to move another inch.
He stops, but doesn't let go. He looks at me, his eyebrows furrowed and eyes narrowed in a piercing gaze.
"Who is Anay? Your ex-lover?" he questions, his jaw clenching, the words coming out clipped and sharp.
"What the fuck are you talking about!?" I shout, mirroring his expression. My breath comes in ragged gasps. There could be nothing between me and Anay, we can never be interested in each other in that way. How dare he think like that about me!!?
"Don't play dumb with me, Vaidehi" he snarls, his nostrils flaring, and he breathes heavily, coming closer to me. Before I can react, he scoops me up in his arms placing me on his shoulder and moves towards the car, his hand wrapped around me tightly like he never wants to release his hold.
"Saransh" I cry out, hitting his back with my fists, my legs trashing helplessly. "Put me down!"
He ignores my pleas, his grip only tightening around me. I try to wiggle free, but his arms are like steel bars holding me captive.
Panic rises in my chest, a knot of fear tightening in my throat.
"I hate you. I hate you with every breath in my body" I scream at the top of my lungs.
Just like that, as if a switch has been flipped, he puts me down.
"Oh yeah?" he challenges his voice laced with dangerous edge as he releases me with unexpected swiftness. I stumble back, my heart pounding against my ribs like a frantic bird.
"Assho-" but my words get stuck in my mouth. His expression darkens, his face a storm of anger.
He starts moving towards me again, his jaw clenched, and his eyes- those burning, furious eyes- are locked onto me with a fire that makes my skin prickle.
