I bid farewell to Maa sa and Kaki sa, two of the kindest souls I had met. In just two days, they had embraced me as their own, and now, leaving them behind felt strangely difficult. Their motherly warmth, their kindness was something I have never known before, making me feel seen in ways I hadn't before.

I lowered my head slightly as Babosa, Dadosa, and Kakosa blessed me, their hands pressing gently against my head, murmuring words of prosperity and happiness. I smiled and thanked them, clinging to the moment. His family has made a way into my heart too soon.

My gaze shifted inside the house towards the staircase, maybe Saransh would come down and I will get a look before I leave. But, he never came.

Looking away disappointed, I spotted Raj and Rudra—unexpectedly deep in conversation with my brothers. Their usual teasing expressions were replaced with something close to camaraderie, a connection that had grown since the reception. It was a strange sight, but somehow comforting.

"You're sure you don't want to stay longer?" Rudra grinned as I approached.

Raj smirked. "If you don't come back soon enough, we'll just show up at your place. No warning."

I laughed despite the tightness in my chest and hugged them both. "I'd like to see you try."

With one last glance around, I stepped into the waiting car, my brothers sitting in the front.

"Where are Maa and Papa?" I asked, hoping the answer wouldn't be what I dreaded.

"They left for Panna last night," Yuvaan replied.

I sighed, a quiet relief settling in. At least I wouldn't have to deal with their scrutinizing eyes the whole way back home.

As the car pulled out of the driveway, I stared out of the window, the weight in my chest growing heavier. The one person I had been hoping to see one last time hadn't even bothered to come downstairs. Saransh.
