"Get out of here. Right now," I yell, pointing furiously at the door. I march towards them, grabbing both by the arms and shoving them out like they're two oversized sacks of potatoes.
"I swear to God, if you ever bring that up again-"
Raj salutes. "Yes, ma'am. Never mentioning it again." Rudra grins.
"OUT!" I slam the door on their faces.
Behind me, Saransh is cracking up, sprawled on the bed like he's watching a stand-up show. "You should've seen your face-"
"Oh, you think it's funny?" I snap, storming toward him.
He throws his hands up, but he's still grinning. "Hilarious, actually."
"OUT."
"What-me too?"
"Out out out!"
I don't give him a chance. I grab a pillow-and smack him with it until he's off the bed and out the door, still laughing.
"Hey-wait-hold on-" he says in between laughs.
I slam the door, twist the lock, and press my back against it, I am never leaving this room again.
From outside, the sound of all three of them laughing together reaches my ears.
Oh God. I hate them. I hate them.
I turn around and bury my face in my palms.
There is no recovering from this.
A few minutes pass. Or an hour. Or ten years. Time is dead to me. Then, there's a knock.
Tap tap tap.
"Go away," I mutter into my pillow.
Another knock.
"Go. Away."
Silence.
Then-my phone buzzes. A message from Saransh.
My phone pings.
Saransh: Open the door, sweetheart.
Sweetheart?
I squint at the screen. Why is he sending cute texts now? I stare at the message like it's written in alien language.
Nope. Not falling for that.
Another hour passes. (Okay, twenty minutes. But it feels like an hour.)
Ping.
Saransh: Open the door. Otherwise, Mom and the others will come home soon. And if they ask me anything I will tell them the truth...
My eyes widen. Wait. Wait, wait, wait.
I fling the door open like I'm in an action movie. "You wouldn't dare!"
