Chapter 16:

We drove away from the pizza parlor and got on the freeway. I crossed my fingers that Jason would drop us off at our hotel because I wanted to soak in the hot rub and go to sleep.

"Where are we going?" Asked Mateo from across from me.

"My house, we're going to party!" Jason hooted.

Olivia, Alex, and Dylan whooped from behind me.

"Party?" I muttered to myself.

Then I realized it was New Years Eve, I wouldn't get to rest until after midnight.

"Oh I booked two hotel rooms for Karla and I, will you drop us off after the party?"Leo asked.

"Hotel?" Jason laughed,"You don't need a hotel you can stay at my place with everyone else."

I bit down on my tongue to keep from screaming as Leo looked back at me for an answer.

"I don't mind."I gave him a weak smile.

"Okay then."He said as we drove up to a private neighborhood.

We parked in front of a light brown colored house, got down and entered a pair of big oak doors.

"Welcome!" Jason smiled waving his arms around himself,"Make yourself at home."

I dropped my suitcase by my side and admired the fancy looking living room. Cream colored couches, a glass chandelier, tall windows overlooking the beach.

"No not here." He said reading my mind,"Back here."

I followed him and the others down the hall and into a den across from a master kitchen. The den was decorated with streamers and balloons. It over looked the beach as well so we could watch the fire works.

"Where can I drop off my suitcase?"I asked.

"Oh I'll show you and Leo upstairs."Jason said helping me with my bags.

He led us back out the hall and up a circular stair case. He pointed at two rooms across from each other and dropped my bag off at the one on the right.

"Thank you." I told him opening the door.

I walked into the room and turned on the light. It was a plain guest room with a closet, bureau and bed. I walked to the window and pulled the curtains apart, another view of the ocean. It wasn't a 5 star hotel but it was a nice place to stay.

"Hey." Leo knocked on my open door.

I cracked a smile at his silly action then saw the serious look on his face.

"I'm sorry about earlier,"He said, "I said too much about the Bruno thing. I didn't realize you felt uncomfortable talking about it."

"It's okay. I'm sorry I never mentioned that I went to court."

"Why didn't you?"

"I didn't want you to worry."

He smiled as he walked towards me,"I'm your boyfriend, it's my job to worry!"

I bit down on my lip to stop from giggling and hugged him. He held me tight and rubbed my back. We stood there for a long time without saying a word until Dylan came upstairs.

"Sorry to interrupt guys but we've started already."He said awkwardly.

We let go, blushing and Leo walked out of the room bumping into the door.

"Later." I smiled.

"Later." He blushed.
