Chapter 2:
As promised my iPhone arrived the next day with a two inch instruction manual on Leo. I read through in disbelief. The back ground story was that Leo's manager knew me through my parents and that I was a good kid. Good enough to help him out with whatever. When I got to the end of the manual I saw a copy of my contract peeping out and I snatched it up. I read through it my jaw dropping to the floor, It was a two to three year contract. How long did it take to get back into the show business? I fell back on the couch and sighed, I already hated Leo and I didn't know a thing about him.
Friday came by too fast. When I got home from school I saw the moving van on the street and decided to make a run for it. Just as I was turning onto my houses pathway a hand clamped down on my shoulder. I felt the blood rush to my face and I dropped my books and bag.
"Oh hey, sorry I scared you." Leo said letting go.
I bent down and picked up my bag and Leo got my books.
"Are you okay?" He asked handing me them back.
"Yeah I'm fine."I said.
"Well my names Leo,"He said,"You must be Karla, right?"
"Yeah I'm Karla, hi Leo."
Leo raked his hair back, out of his creamy, beige face and smiled. There was a big moment of awkward silence, so I broke it.
"Do you need help with anything?" I asked.
"Yeah,"Leo said,"Unpacking some stuff maybe."
"Okay. Yeah, sure." I said.
I followed Leo into his new house and into his room upstairs. It was a large tan room with a balcony just like mine. There were boxes strewn everywhere, I didn't know where to start.
"You can help me unpack that trophy box over there."Leo said.
I opened a brown cardboard box and pulled the trophies out one by one aligning them in a case across the room.
"I'll be back in a sec."Leo said leaving the room.
I was putting away the last trophy when a giant German Shepard ran in and jumped on me. We fell into the trophy case while it bit my hand. I heard Leo's footsteps coming towards us and the dog ran off into the bathroom. I sat there, my hand bleeding, glass in my arm and all over the floor, even the bookshelf was broken.
"My trophies!" Leo gasped.
I looked up sadly, I had really messed up. I had crushed Leo's lifelong accomplishments in a matter of seconds.
Leo ran over to where I was and scooped up the glass, heartbroken.
"What have you done?"He asked angrily.
"It was an accident."I said on the verge of tears.
"No you were an accident!"He countered.
My lips parted in a gasp as I tried to keep my cool. He couldn't possibly mean it, he didn't know me. I stood up as fast as I could, grabbing my stuff and running downstairs and out onto the yard. From there I didn't stop running until I was in my bedrooms bathroom. I sat down on the floor wrapping my arms around my legs, bringing my knees up to my chest and crying.
After crying for fifteen minutes straight I removed the glass with tweezers and disinfected the bite and patched it up. I spent the rest of the night doing student council work and hating Leo.
