Duncan’s POV
I watched as Lewis ran around behind me muttering to himself. I turned to see him looking through a chest and panicking.
“What the hell are you looking for?” I asked him.
“Erm... copper.” I walked over to a different chest, grabbed some copper and walked over to him. I held the bars in front of him. He looked from the chest long enough to see them in my hand. He looked at me and smirked.
“Here you go sweetie.” He laughed and took them from me. He kissed me and walked away. We were working in my castle now. We had been for about a year now. We had been a couple for almost five years. I was going to surprise Lewis on our anniversary this year. I continued to build the rollercoaster.
“Duncan, help!” I ran to Lewis. He was looking in a chest.
“What have you done now?” He pulled his head from the chest to glare at me. “What? But seriously what’s wrong spaceman?” He stood up.
“I can’t remember. You and your distractions.” He walked over to me and kissed me. “I love you.” He brushed my side fringe out of my eyes and kissed between my eyes. I watched him walk away and I went and made a small present for Lewis.
“I’m going out for a while.” I shouted to Lewis and walked out of the castle. I walked over to the small place I had made by a mountain. It was a small gazebo and had two chairs and a table ready for the anniversary dinner. I doubled checked everything was right for tomorrow night. I readied the train line there and then. I made sure everything was fine. I ran back to the castle as soon as quickly as possible. I was tackled by Lewis as I stepped through the door. “Hey! Careful!” He laughed.
“I love you Duncan. I want to do something to you.” He smiled at me. I smiled back at him. He dragged me up to the bedroom. He kissed me and I deepened it. He moaned as I rolled on top of him. I pulled off his top and kissed it a little. He moaned at each touch. I smiled at him, he managed to flip me over and pin me down.
“What are you planning?” I let him do what he wanted that night. We didn’t wake till midday. We got up and continued with work. We ran around trying to fix things and make things. “Lewis. Can we just calm down, I want to relax a little. It is our anniversary.” Lewis turned and hugged me. “What are you randomly hugging me for?”
“Cause you remembered our anniversary.”
“Why wouldn’t I?” I smiled; and hugged him back tightly. “I love you my little spaceman.”
“I love you too my little scientist.” I kissed him and tapped his nose.
“Now, go get dressed properly. We’re going out.” Lewis squealed like a little girl and ran off. I stood there trying to breath. I couldn’t breathe; I was laughing too much. I got myself dressed, which involved putting a fresh lab coat on and fixing my hair. I waited for Lewis. He was wearing what he normally wore and had his hair as he normally did. Men are very low maintenance. I wrapped my arm around his waist and helped him into the minecart. I hopped into the minecart in front and we rode to the safe spot on the mountain. The minecarts stopped and I helped him from the cart. I covered his eyes. “You have to trust me.”
“Ok, I trust you. I trust you because you’re mine.” He said. I sat him on the chair. I uncovered his eyes. “Wow, it’s beautiful.” He looked around and gasped. “Is this all for... our anniversary?”
“Yes, my beautiful spaceman.” I sat opposite him and pressed a button. Food rose from the table, making Lewis gasp.
“This is amazing!” I was planning something. I put my hand in my pocket and felt for the ring. I rolled it around in my fingers. “Duncan? You ok?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. Let’s eat.” We ate and looked over the landscape. While Lewis looked over the cliff top and I knelt down and pulled out the ring. “Lewis.” He turned to look at me. “Lewis, will you marry me?” He gasped and I watched him start to cry. “Lewis?”
“Yes, Duncan. Yes I will. I love you.” I got up and hugged him. I put the ring on his finger and he smiled and kissed me passionately.
“I love you too Lewis. I will always love you and will never let you go.” We got in the minecarts and rode home. We got in and started to drink some of the beer I brewed. We got drunk and passed out in the brewery room. I was awake longer than Lewis was. He passed out after about five strong beers. I passed out after nine strong beers. We woke in the blinding light and both had a hangover. Hangovers are terrible. They kill my mind for the day. I got up and groaned. Lewis groaned next to me and rolled onto his back.
“What happened?” He groaned as I got up.
“We got drunk and passed out. You passed out first, as per usual.” He laughed than moaned at the pain in his head. I knew what he felt like at that moment. “Don’t worry; you can usually rid yourself of that horrible feeling with coffee. I’ll go make us some.” I got up and made coffee. Lewis followed me casually, groaning in pain.
“I feel like crap. Whose fault was this?” I pointed at him.
“Yours we were celebrating the engagement.” He looked at his hand and gasped.
“Oh my god, yeah.” He smiled and hugged me. “You got that coffee?” I nodded and handed him the coffee.
“Here you go.” He drank the coffee and made ‘mmmh’ and ‘aah’ sounds. Making me giggle in the process.
“You like that coffee?” He nodded and went and sat on the sofa. I followed him and sat next to him.
