Duncan’s POV
Zoey arrived at the castle. She seemed excited I walked out to meet her. She immediately hugged me.
“What’s wrong Zoey?” She hugged me tighter. “Zoey...”
“You and Lewis are a couple! Why didn’t you tell me?” I smiled and laughed a little.
“Yeah, we are. We haven’t told anyone how did you know?”
“I think Rythian guessed right.” She smiled and I led her inside. Lewis was lying face down on the floor groaning. “Is he ok?”
“Yeah he’s just exhausted.” I nudged him with my boot. He rolled onto his back. “Get up you lazy bastard.” Lewis grabbed my leg and pulled me down. I landed next to him in a heap. “You cheeky litt-” He laughed and sat on top of me. “No, Lewis!”
“Yes, Duncan!” He forced me to the floor and kissed me. I managed to stop him long enough.
“We have a guest.” I watched as he scanned and stopped on Zoey. He leapt off me as quickly as he could and composed himself. He waved awkwardly.
“Hi Zoey, how are you?” She laughed as I got up.
“She knew already.” Lewis sighed and hugged me.
“You’re such a cute couple.” Zoey said as I held him into me. “I assume Rythian has told you I’m pregnant?” I nodded. “I just came to see if you really were a couple. Also that when the baby is old enough, he will be coming here to learn science from his uncles.” I gasped.
“Really? Oh my god, I can’t wait for it.” I pulled her into a hug with us all.
“Wait did you say we were both going to be uncles?” He hugged her again. “I love you!” He let her go after I persuaded him.
“Oh, I have to go now. Rythian will be worrying.” She flew off. I watched her fly into the distance. Lewis was stood next to me when we saw shadows over SipsCo.
“Duncan, who is that?” I looked closely.
“It looks like Sjin and he has someone with him.” Lewis tried to look closer. “Forget it, it doesn’t matter.” We walked back in. “We should make some power armour.” I showed him how to make lots of additions and things for the armour then we sat on the floor. Lewis sat on my lap and I put my arms on his waist. He put his arms around my neck and kissed me. He pushed me to the floor and deepened the kiss. He undid my lab coat, revealing my chest. The door opened making us both look up. Zoey was stood there, panic on her face. “What?”
“I can’t find Rythian anywhere.” The tears started to roll down her face. I got up and Lewis hugged her. I walked outside and looked over to SipsCo. Something was going on over there.
“I’m going to see what’s going on at SipsCo. I’ll be back in a minute.” I walked over to SipsCo and was confronted with Rythian tied to a chair; Sips holding a laser to his head. Sjin was stood in front of Rythian. “What is going on here?” Sjin turned from Rythian and looked at me, he held out a blood soaked hand to shake. I declined. He shrugged and turned back to Rythian. Rythian had a gag on and was screaming in pain. I had to help in some way.
“Do you want to help?” I shook my head and walked around.
“Sjin, wouldn’t you be better off using that multitasking knife?”
“Yes, I’ll go get it. Sips come help me look.” Hey both walked off and I ran to Rythian. He had a gash on his arm.
“I can fix that.” He glared at me. “As soon as I let you go, you go to my castle. Lewis and Zoey are there waiting.” He nodded and I freed him. He flew off. I used his blood to fake an injury and I slumped against a wall. Sjin and Sips came out. They saw that Rythian was gone and I was on the floor.
“What happened?” Sjin stood in front of Sips.
“Rythian... he’s headed into the nether. He said he was going to seek help.” Sjin grabbed Sips and they went through the portal. I got up as they disappeared. I flew back to my castle. I saw Lewis expertly stitching Rythian’s arm. The blood was slowly becoming darker, like it was free of oxygen. I looked at it as it thickened and went black. Something changed him. I think that may have been when we went to the end. “Rythian, why is your blood like that?” He looked down.
“When we went to the end, I gained ender. I’m part ender.” He looked at me a slight purple hue in his eyes. My eyes drifted over to Zoey who was sat down silently. I walked over.
“Would you like a drink? Anything?” She looked at me blankly. “Are you ok, Zoey?” She shook her head slowly. I saw Rythian looking at me in the corner of my eye. I sat next to her. “Want to tell me about it?”
“I’m worried that if this continues that the baby won’t be safe at all.” She started to cry.
“Don’t cry. Please.” She stopped. “I’m going to make everyone a coffee. I walked downstairs and made coffees. I walked back up a few minutes later and Lewis was just sitting alone. “Where’d everyone go?”
“They’ve gone to a new home; somewhere in the desert. They said they would visit.” I handed Lewis one of the four coffees and sat next to him. “Rythian’s fine by the way.”
“I think we will get a visit from Sjin and Sips soon. They think Rythian has gone to the nether to seek help from someone.”
“Why?” I smiled awkwardly at Lewis. He glared at me. “Duncan Jones, you sneaky bastard.” He kissed me and I deepened it. We spilt all four coffee cups and did some things that night.
