"Wait, I have to take a magical oath that will bind us together."

"Yes, how come you don't know that?"

You open your mouth and close it, trying to process that marriage is different in the wizarding world.

Also, you remember that you didn't tell Tom your whole story, a story that he is a character from a book, and that you only told him the 'time traveling' part.

"What if things don't work out, and divorce is the only option?"

Tom frowns at you, narrowing his eyes at your suspicious attitude that he noticed.

"There is no divorce when magical marriage oaths are made," he states firmly.

"The bond is eternal. Unless, of course, one of us dies."

Your stomach churns at the way he says it, so matter-of-factly.

However, you do remember J. K. Rowling saying that divorce does exist in the wizarding world but it's rare.

The closest thing to a divorce was Tom Riddle SR. leaving Merope, but there were no mentions of divorce.

"That sounds problematic," you say, trying to keep your voice steady.

Tom tilts his head, studying you with a knowing smirk. "For whom?"

"For both of us," you answer quickly.

"What if we grow to despise each other?"

"That won't happen."

His confidence is nerve-wracking.

You let out a sigh, preparing yourself to explain to him why you can't marry him.

"Tom, listen, I don’t belong here; this situation was never supposed to happen. And I definitely do not want to be magically shackled to you forever."

The Heir of Slytherin stares at you as if you were an ungrateful brat.

"How many men did you sleep with in the time you weren't with me? Ten? Twenty?" Tom questions coldly.

You recoil at his words, feeling both insulted and taken aback.

"Excuse me?" you snap, anger flaring in your chest. "What kind of question is that?"

Tom merely raises an eyebrow, his expression unreadable.

"You hesitate. That tells me all I need to know."

Your hands clench into fists at your sides.

"I hesitate because it's an absolutely ridiculous accusation! My life before this had nothing to do with you!"

You suddenly push him back from you in anger.

"Also your question tells me how insecure you feel about me rejecting you." You sneer.

"You think I’m insecure?" His voice is dangerously low, but you refuse to be intimidated.

"Oh, absolutely," you say, crossing your arms.

"Only someone deeply insecure would feel the need to control every aspect of another person’s life."

Tom scoffs, but there’s a flicker of something in his eyes something that tells you your words are hitting him exactly where you want.

"Love is idiotic, this is about loyalty, about ensuring that you do not betray me."

"Betray you?" You let out a hollow laugh.

"Newsflash, Tom, If you need a spell to guarantee my loyalty, you don’t actually have it."

Tom pulls out his wand before pointing it at you.

"Imperio"

Nothing happens, but it seems like Tom thinks that the forbidden has worked on you.

So, you decided to play along.

"I like to see you paralyzed and obedient."

Tom moves his hand towards your face as he touches your cheek.

You don't want his touch.

He got electrified as you expected.

Remember, if someone touches you against your will, they get electricified.

Smiling as Tom falls on the sofa behind him in shock and pain, you cross your arms.

"I never thought to see you so paralyzed and obedient, Tom" you mock him.

You were going to continue poking fun at him, but you get teleported to another universe

Damn, your chance to torture Lord Voldemort is gone.

Also the next universe is...
