The corridors of the old castle lay hushed under a bruised twilight, the ancient stones bearing silent witness to secrets and sorrows too heavy for even their ageless souls. Rain had begun its soft tapping against narrow windows, and somewhere in the labyrinthine halls, a confrontation long postponed was about to shatter the stillness.
Mattheo's POV:
For weeks, I'd watched Y/N from afar, my heart caught in the unyielding grip of both affection and a consuming need for truth. There was something elusive about her—an aura of quiet mystery that both repelled and beckoned me closer. Tonight, in the secluded alcove of the east wing, I could no longer remain silent. The flutter of my heart threatened to drown out every rational thought as I stepped forward, determined to force the answers out of her.
"Y/N!" I called softly at first, but as I drew near, urgency laced every syllable. I found her in a narrow corridor, her silhouette trembling against the weak glow of a solitary lantern. She seemed so small, so fragile—like a whisper caught in a tempest.
Her eyes met mine, wide and startled. "Mattheo... what are you doing here?" she whispered, as though expecting a confrontation yet dreading its inevitability.
I halted mere inches away, searching her face for any hint of the secrets I knew lurked beneath her gentle exterior. "I've been waiting for you," I said, my voice a mix of determination and anxiety. "There's something I need to know, something you've been hiding."
Every word was measured, but my heart pounded with the weight of my suspicions. I had noticed the furtive glances, the way she avoided questions about her past, and the silent pain in her eyes. "Tell me, Y/N. Who are you really?" I pressed, my tone softening just a fraction as I tried to convey that I wasn't here to hurt her—but to understand.
For a moment, she hesitated, her gaze dropping to the damp stones at her feet. Shadows danced on her face, and I could see the conflict in her eyes. "I... I don't know what you mean," she stammered, her voice barely audible. The walls around us seemed to close in as I took a step closer, the desperation in my voice intensifying.
"Don't lie to me," I insisted. "I know there's more to you than this quiet façade. I've seen how you flinch when the subject comes up, how you retreat behind those guarded eyes. Please, Y/N, I need to understand."
I could almost see her heart shatter beneath the weight of my demand—a heart I had come to cherish. And yet, something in her tremulous silence betrayed a secret too dangerous to keep hidden for much longer.
Y/N's POV:
I backed away slowly, feeling the chill of dread seep into my bones. How did he know? How could he see right through the carefully constructed mask of normalcy I'd worn for so long? My heart pounded in my ears, and every instinct screamed to run, to escape the consequences of a revelation I'd never meant to share.
"Mattheo, please..." I tried to start, but the words stuck in my throat. The air around us thickened, and I could feel the latent magic of the castle pulsing in rhythm with my fear. How could I let him see what lay hidden in the shadows of my past?
I closed my eyes, desperately willing the courage to surface, but then it happened—a surge of emotion, a collision of desperation and relief, and the dam broke. In that heated, vulnerable moment, the truth spilled out before I could stop it.
"My parents... they weren't like everyone else," I began, my voice trembling as if on the brink of shattering. "They were Death Eaters. They—" My confession trailed off as I realized the enormity of my words, but the damage was done. The secret that had haunted my every waking moment now hung between us like a specter.

FanfictionI will be putting warnings in all chapters, what house you are in, etc. I really am trying to make the plots good but I'm not very good at grammar. If I get an idea from a creator I will tag them. I change between "I" and "you" in different chapters...
