"Khushi, we are 15 minutes late! How much more time are you going to take?" I ask, glaring at her as she combs her hair into another hairstyle

"Khushi, we are 15 minutes late! How much more time are you going to take?" I ask, glaring at her as she combs her hair into another hairstyle.

Just then, the door bell rings. I open the door and find Harsh looking at his shoes like he's nervous. What's he doing here anyway?

"You're ready for the party, right?" He says gesturing to my dress. I was wearing a mint green dress paired with a pearl necklace. I was wearing no make up except the red lip gloss. My hair was tied into a messy bun which I would let free in the party hall downstairs.

I wasn't in the mood for a dj party, honestly. But I have a massive fear of missing out on things so here I am in a dress and uncomfortable heels.

"Yes, I was just waiting for Khushi to get ready. Why?" I ask

"I was heading downstairs so just thought I'd stop by". He says shrugging

"Should I come with you? Khushi, do you mind?"

"I don't mind. I'll be there in 5 minutes"

Harsh and I walk towards the hall in silence, buzzed with some kind of nervous energy. He's looking at his shiny boots biting his lip.

His curly hair falls over his forehead and I am about to ask if he's okay when he breaks the silence.

"I need to tell you something" He doesn't wait for me to respond.

"I like you. I've had a crush on you since college started. I couldn’t keep it to myself anymore.”

My breath catches in my throat. I take a moment to take in whatever he was saying.
