🥰

Aarav and my dad  sleep in my and Kaashvi's room while I, Kaashvi and mumma sleep in our parents bedroom. I wake up at 9:30 am to find him gone.

"Mumma, Aarav kidhar hai?" I ask, my voice coming out slightly rough from sleep.

"His dad picked him up at 6am. He said that he'll see you in college, directly."

"He already left? You should've woken me up."

"I insisted to but he said that he didn't want to ruin your sleep. I told him to have breakfast but that boy is as stubborn as you" She says, shaking her head and chuckling.

"Yeah, he is stubborn. I'll see him in college then"

I walk to my room and spot a men's watch with a leather belt that doesn't belong to my dad.

I send him the photo with a text.

Aastha: Remember to get your watch from me when you come to college. Also, Why did you leave without waking me up? 😭 Acha chal, see you at 12

Next day...

Yesterday, I kept peeking out of the classroom, waited for him to appear any minute. I kept checking my phone waiting for his call but it never came. He didn't show up to college and his phone was switched off.

I hadn't heard from him, not even a word. I was going to stay mad at him. Until he shows up to class this morning, looking tired like usual. But I seem to be the only one noticing the slight hunch in his shoulders. He sits on the last bench and I instantly know something is wrong. He never sits on the last bench.

Tanmay chats with him casually and I notice how Aarav just listens or pretends to listen. The teacher enters and I decide to focus on my notes instead.

An, hour later, Tanmay and Khushi leave, telling me that they planned a date. I finally walk to Aarav who's sleeping with his head down.

"Banerjee?"

His head snaps up and and I notice the corners of this eyes soften slightly.

Of course he's not sleeping.

"Let's go to the canteen. I'm hungry"

He follows me downstairs and to the lonely table in the the corner of the hall.
