Chapter 8

"So, Yall are actually getting married...." I say. I am sitting in a pillow by the fireplace. I have a blanket wrapped around me, and my arms wrapped around Emily, who is sitting in my lap. She is snuggles so close to me, that the blanket is wrapped around her too. "Yes Alexa, for the hundredth time, we are." Nessie says, leaning into Jacob on the couch. Jacob is talking to my mom(btw I still think it's weird that Nessie is marrying my moms bff but wth.) about how weddings are a lot of work. I turn back to Emily, who looks as bored as I am. "Do you want to play in the snow?" I ask her quietly in her ear. She nods, and I put her furry boots back on. Then I stand up, and take Emily's hand. "I am going to play in the snow. Emily is coming too." I announce, before walking out the door, smiling at the laughter i caused. "Okay, let's play a game." I tell her. "Okay." She says looking up at me. I squat down, so our eyes are almost level, and start to explain how to play tag, when a wolf comes out. I recognize him as Seth, the one my mom threw at a tree when my Jacob imprinted on my sister. "Hey Seth." I say looking up. "Can I play? They are talking about wedding stuff, and it's really boring, so I decided to come see my favorite runaway ever." He says cracking a smile at the last part. "I don't know... Emily, do you think it's a good idea?" I joke. She thinks for a minute, then holds up to thumbs. "Double thumbs up?! Who can argue with that!" I say. She giggles, and Seth laughs. "Okay, ready?" I ask, and they both nod. Then I jump up really fast, and tag Emily. "Your it Emmy!" I say, before running slowly. She gets up, and try's to run through the snow, then she finally gets to Seth, who barely moved, and tags him. "You it Sweth!" She says, and he laughs. Seth runs towards me, and tackles me to the ground. "Your it." He says smirking. Then I get up, and instead of  running, I make a huge snowball, and throw it at his back. "What was that for?!" He yells. "You deserved it! What kind of guy tackles a girl the the ground?" I say making an innocent face. He laughs his huge Wolf laugh, and throws a snowball at me. "That kind" He says smirking at my wet shirt. I laugh, earning a look from him, then close my eyes. I picked up this element gift when that guy came to our house. I concentrate on a snow cloud, then put one directly over his head. Snow starts to fall on his, and he screams. "No fair! I can't beat a cloud!" He says frowning as snow falls on him. I hear laughter, and look over at the porch, where everyone is watching, and pointing at Seth. I run over to Emily, and scoop her up. "Watch this!" I tell her, before taking one of her hands and facing her palm up. Then I put my hand over hers, and squeeze. I remove my hand, and a perfect snowflake is in her hand. She smiles wide, and giggles, until it melts. "Mommy! Where did it go?" She asks, and I laugh at her brow furrowing in confusion. "Magic." I tell her with a wink, before walking up the porch steps. "Alexa! I'm freezing here!" Seth says, and I look back at him. I laugh, and move the cloud back up to the sky and she lets out a huge sigh. Then I walk inside, and sit by the fire, trying to warm Emily up. "Hot chocolate?" Mom asks, handing me a mug, and a sippy cup. I nod, and take the cups. "Emmy? Do you want hot chocolate!" I ask her, and she nods eagerly! I hand her the sippy cup. She drinks it slowly, and lays her head on my lap. We stay sitting this way for a long time, listening to wedding talk, and watching the sun slowly go down.
