Chapter 25

"Alexa! He won't stop crying!" Seth complains, bouncing Elijah. I groan, and get off the couch. "Come here my baby." I say, and take Elijah. He immediately stops crying, and looks up at me. I laugh and kiss his face. "Okay, Jake and I have to go meet up with the pack. We'll be back for dinner probably." Seth says and I nod. I kiss him goodbye, and get onto the floor where John and Jaden are playing with blocks. "What are you playing?" I ask. "Blocks!" John says and I laugh. "Yeah? Is it fun?" I ask. "Yes!" Jaden exclaims. The twins grew last night, so they look about two now. "Mommy! Where's Emmybear?" Emily asks. "Maybe in the back?" I suggest and she nods before running off. "Momma! Can we play outside?" Jaden asks and I nod. "Come on children!" I say, and I lean over to pick them up. Just then Jaden looks at John and he nods, then they stand up. "What! When did you learn this?" I say shocked. "Momma, were vampires. We know what we're doing." John says in a duh tone. I laugh and shake my head. They walk over to the door gracefully and I shake my head once again. "You my baby, better not grow up that fast." I say looking at Elijah in my arms and he continues to slobber on his hand. I laugh and take his hand out of his mouth and give him a paci. Then I walk to the back door open it, and let John and Jaden walk out, then follow. I hold Elijah's bundle close to me, and hold the twins hands as they hop down the steps. "Woah! Look who learned to walk!" Emmet says in a baby voice with Emily on his shoulders. "Are you always this dumb?" Jaden asks rolling her eyes, and Rosalie cracks up. "I swear I didn't teach her that!" She says, and picks her up before high fiving her. "Don't break my kids!" I yell after Emmet and Rose as they run around the field. "Momma, where gramps?" John asks, nuzzling his cheek on my leg. "I think he and Grams are still at home." I say and he nods. "What about Aunt Alice?" He asks. "Hmmm. Not sure." I say, realizing for the first time she isn't outside. "Here I am!" A very pregnant Alice walks out the door. I laugh at her and she shakes her head. "You were never this big!" Alice complains, picking up John. "Actually I was twice as big but whatever." I say and she laughs. "Touché." She says, and strokes John's cheek. John sits perfectly on Alice's baby bump, and Elijah's breathing slows and gets louder as he sleeps in his cozy bundle. "I really hope my baby will be as close to me as yours are to you." Alice says nervously. "She/he will love you." I say and kiss Elijah's head. "Momma! Look! I got a snow flake!" Jaden says holding out her hands. "It's beautiful!" I say and smile at her. "Momma, I love you." She says and I smile bigger. "I love you to J-bug." I say and kiss her hand. "Johnny! Come play!" Jaden says and drags John along with her. "Ow!" Alice winces. My eyes widen," What? What's wrong!" "The baby. The baby is coming!" Alice says and I gasp. "Okay, go to carlisle's hospital room!" I say and she nods before rushing upstairs. "Rose! Come on! Emmet, watch the twins!" I say and they nod. "Carlisle's out hunting!" Rose says. "I know. I'm going to deliver the baby." I say and she gasps. "Oh come on! You don't know how to do that!" She says and I roll my eyes. "Trust me, I do." I say and she shrugs. We run into the room, and I grab the pain medicine. "Rose, take my baby." I say and hand Elijah to her. "Okay, Aunt Alice, this might hurt." I say then plunge the needle into her back. She gasps, and try's to manage her pain. "Okay, now push." I say, and she pushes so hard that the baby actually comes out on the first time. "Alright then. It's a girl!" I say and she smiles. "Let me see her!" She says, and I hand her the baby. "Will you get Jazz?" She asks and I nod. I run downstairs and into the woods where I find everyone. "Alice had her baby. It's a girl." I say and they all run off without a word. I laugh and follow. "Do you want to meet the baby?" I ask the twins and they nod. I take them both my the hand and walk upstairs and into the crowded room. I walk them up to the bed where Alice and Jasper are admiring the baby. "So you agree?" Alice says and Jasper smiles and nods. "What's the name?" I ask and wrap my arm around Emily. "Her name is Elliot Marie Hale." Jasper says and everyone awhs.
For a while the men decorate and paint Elliot's room, as Alice holds the baby and everyone takes turns holding her.
