Chapter 24: You look Sexy as Hell!

At mid night, all of us went to uncle and aunty's room to wish aunty and we cut a small cake. Aunty said looking at Raj, Rohan and me standing in our night suits "Thanks, beta. I didn't know you guys would be awake till now."

"It's your birthday aunty...obviously we would be awake!" I said cheerfully. We didn't want to take much of her time so Raj insisted on leaving their room and all three of us walked out.

Rohan wished me good night and walked to his room while Raj was waiting for me to say something. I said in a low voice "I am not sleepy at all."

We walked towards my room door and he said running his hands through his hair "Me too....let's sit and talk."

I didn't want to go to his room so I insisted sitting in my room. I settled on the bed while he settled on chair near the dressing table keeping his distance.

I wanted to tell him about how I was feeling but I was finding it difficult. Before I could say anything, he said "Hey, the look on your face tells me you want to tell me something but you're not saying it."Shit! That was like a mind reading trick.

I said after gulping down a lump in my throat avoiding looking at him "Raj, I feel a bit confused about 'us'. I mean we aren't dating, just seeing each other...I am well aware of your reputation with girls and a part of me is worried about that.. I mean do you seriously like me or you just think of me as you do of the rest of the girls?"

His reaction changed from a smile to a sudden tensed face. His jaw tightened and a crease formed on his forehead. He got up immediately and walked towards me.

He sat near the edge of my bed, holding my hand with one of his hand and cupping the other one on my cheek. He tilted my face so that I would face him and he said looking into my eyes "I know you might be thinking something like that...any girl in your case would but believe me what I feel for you is more than I have felt for anyone in my entire life."

He guided my palm to his heart and continued "Can you hear that? My heart beats faster when you're around...I feel it beats for you!"

I couldn't reply to him, I felt guilty and confused why I started the talk. He continued in a sweet voice "I know my reputation earlier sucked but now I will make sure it's just fine and if you feel like I might just use you and leave you, you're wrong ....I can't express it but I can do anything for you....to prove it to you. "

His words were making me melt, I thought. But that didn't make my feelings clearer for him.

After grasping for some air, I finally said "I will take some time but I do believe there is something between us that I like but I don't know what it is... I am still not sure... it's all happening too fast... me coming here...college..the lime light...adjustments ..and now again moving..."

Thank god he wasn't expecting anything what I thought he was. He thought the topic was getting too serious so he changed it instantly "Did you like the white dress I sent over?"

I nodded. We talked about 'stuff' for a while and slowly I don't know when I dozed off after he left.

The next went usual. Except the birthday planning and stuff happening till evening. In the evening when I was ready in the pretty white dress, Rohan knocked at my door and came in after I told him.

He was holding a blue tie in his hand and like the last time I helped him with his tie and he looked at me and said " You always look like an angel, so pretty! How do you manage to mesmerize?"
