Chapter 28: He Just Slept Beside Me!

I was pretty confused because of what happened.
I was thinking whether to tell Raj or no when there was a ring at the doorbell. My maid opened the door since I was still thinking about Raj. She brought in an enormous bouquet of flowers, red roses almost two dozen of them..

I knew they would be from Raj. I took out the card kept on the top and it read 'I wish you have an amazing birthday. Waiting to see the older you! Love- Raj ;-)' that made me smile.

My parents were back in town by afternoon and they came over to see me and they had a surprise for me- Arjun my elder brother came along.

The moment I saw him I almost jumped on him and said "I missed you, bro. How are you?"

"Fine. You're getting heavier now. I missed you too." he said leaving me down. He got me my favourite brand of handbag- Prada!

Girls usually drooled over my bro. He looked pretty handsome and mature. He was going to stay with me in the penthouse and continue working here with dad.

He took me aside and asked me raising an eyebrow "I hear you're seeing some guy here?"

"Kind off. But nothing serious yet." I said with a grin.

"I need to see him, soon. Need to warn him because he will have to tolerate you" he said stifling a laugh while I punched him on the shoulder.

Mum and dad took us out for lunch and all of us had a total family time when Raj called up.

"Hey, birthday girl. I am waiting to see you. How's your birthday going on?" he said in a cheerful tone. His tone said it all. He had no clue about Rohan staying over but god knows how long would that be.

I excused myself from our table and went to the lobby of the restaurant to talk to him. "It's going on well. My brother Arjun is back. How did your meeting go?"

"Fine. I am waiting to see you. I miss you. I am taking you out tonight. So keep yourself free. I am on the airport now. Will fly back through the company jet" he said excitedly.

He seemed in a pretty good mood but I needed to tell him before anyone else told him "I needed to talk to you.."

He interrupted me in between "Gotta go, Angel. I am getting inside the flight now. Wait for me." and kept the phone.

I returned back to the table after sending a quick text to Rohan.

ME: You got a grip on Natasha?

His reply was instant.

ROHAN: She told some of her friends before I could explain it to her. I think she told the girls too. I am really sorry. She doesn't want to talk to me now.

Shit! This was bad. If she told it to people she could reach Raj too. The bitch was good at bitching.

I continued my lunch with my parents and returned back to the enthouse. My parents were going to be there for some days. The entire afternoon I hung around with Meera, Alia and Jay.

Sadly they already knew about Rohan staying over but I cleared it out for them saying "He just slept beside me that too because we were pretty drunk. Nothing happened but the bitch turned it into a gossip."

Jai said asked calmly "Does Raj know?"

"I don't know. But I need to tell him before he thinks anything wrong. I am sure Natasha will try to tell him" I said with a sigh.

We spent the next few hours hanging out in my apartment while my dad and brother went out for some business meeting and mum went to the club.

Jai got a call and all of a sudden all of them left the apartment. I asked them the reason but no one said anything but as I went to the door I found Raj standing there in a formal black suit with a blue tie. He always looked sexy and adorable in a suit.

He wrapped his arms around me and whispered in my ears "Happy birthday, angel! I hope you liked the flowers." I could smell his adorable fragrance. He left me after planting a soft kiss near my shoulder.

"I loved them. Is that all you got for me?" I asked placing my hands on my hips like a kid with a smile.

"Hmmm...maybe" and he waved his hands to a guy standing outside the home who got in an entire bunch of gifts in his hand. There were so many of them. The guy kept it on the living room table and left.

I placed my hands on my mouth, being shocked and said "Shit! I didn't mean that. So many?"

There were more than 20 at least. I sat opening each one of them. He knew how to gift and make people happy. There was one gift with our pictures in it, cutouts from papers, our pictures from our phones and parties.

There was another with a red scarf , another with a pendent with a heart on it, then another with a painting. He even gifted me the latest I-pad Air, a kindle since I loved books and some first edition copies of my favourite books. The list was endless.

He said "This is nothing. I want to give you everything I can" he said cupping my face and inching closer.

I told him feeling awkward "This is too much, Raj. I can't take it. This is way too much!"

He said in his casual tone "You have no idea how much I earn. I can afford it all. And these are just things. You have my heart."

Before he would distract me by kissing I told him avoiding looking at him "I wanted to tell you something." I didn't want to hide it from him.

"What, Angel?" he said as he settled down on the couch and loosened his tie.

"It's about Rohan..." his jaw tightened and his reaction changed into a serious one.

Before I could say anything, he said "You spent the night with him, didn't you?"

I nodded. I knew it was coming. I was waiting for his reaction and was cursing Natasha in my mind. I said in a low voice sitting next to him "Please don't take it wrongly. We were drunk and he just fell asleep beside me. Nothing happened!"

I continued running my hand through my hair "Natasha Began this rumour about Rohan and me because she saw us together and it spread like a fire."

"I believe you. I have no right to question you until you're mine. I have been wanting to ask you but I never did...thinking it was too early and you needed time but I want to ask you now." He held my hand and said it clearly "Will you be my girlfriend?"

It was like he bowled a googly when I wasn't ready. I knew he liked me a lot and everything but this was getting pretty serious. He wanted me to be his girlfriend.

Was he asking me because he was intimidated by Rohan or he was going to ask me anyway? Shit! Should I say yes or no, I thought while he waited for my answer.
