NEVAEH

I wake up in my bed, feeling empty inside. It feels kinda weird being in my own apartment again. My door was fixed and Noah's body isn't in my kitchen, my house looks like nothing ever happened.

I turn off my alarm and get ready, because I still have to go into work today. I want to call in sick so bad but then I'd look weak, and I have to proceed like nothing ever happened. So I do just that.

I shower, get dressed, do my makeup, get to work and walk into the building on my own like nothing ever happened. Damien was calling and texting me all night, so I simply blocked him. I'm going to have to see him either way.

My office still isn't finished yet, so I'm forced to go to his room. Luckily, he isn't in there, so I go in and log in on my computer. I'm going to make sure that every time I leave my keyboard, I'll be logged out from now on.

Shortly after, he walks into the office, his steps faltering once his eyes set on me. He clears his throat, and goes to his desk without saying a word to me. Whatever. I prefer it that way anyway.

Today is Thursday. We're meant to go on a date tomorrow but clearly that's no longer on the calendar.

I can spot him occasionally looking over and glancing at me through my periphery when he thinks I'm not paying attention, but he looks all the more guilty.

We're both working in silence when Sadie knocks on our door. "Sorry this is a bit of a late notice, but you two will be attending a meeting at 2pm sharp." She informs us. Great. Her eyes leer over to me. "Be there."

I already know what's going to happen. The meeting's going to be about what happened yesterday, and since I 'posted' it, I'm going to be in trouble.

I sigh. There's no way I'm getting out of it. Especially because Sadie loathes me, and no one's going to believe me anyway.

It's lunch, so I go to the bathroom quickly before I go somewhere to have lunch. As I'm washing my hands, someone splashes water in my face and I think I already know who it is.

"Hey, Nevaeh." She smirks maliciously at me. "What's-"

"Oh my fucking days, give me a break!" I interrupt her, and my reaction makes her jump a little. "You got what you wanted, why are you still bothering me?! I'm fed up!"

She's silent for a bit, before she opens her big mouth. "I was just checking up on you, I heard you and Damien's fight."

Bullshit. She wouldn't even 'check up' on me if I was shot. "Yeah, thanks to you that happened." I retort.

"I didn't do anything. It was all you." She says. "And I'm pretty annoyed that I didn't get to do anything anyway."

I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. She's probably trying to confuse me, right? "Why are you still lying? You went on my computer and posted it."

"I don't have access to your office. Stop finding other people to blame for your actions." She narrows her eyes at me, hatred seeping through. "Look, whatever happened in your office, just know that I didn't do shit. If it was me, I'd be gloating."

She walks off and out of the washroom, leaving me standing there confused as shit.

If she didn't do it, then who did?

When I get out of the washroom and back to the office to get my bag and leave, Alejandro stops me. "Hey, Nevaeh." He says, looking down at me.

"Hi, I need to get my things so if you mind-"
