NEVAEH
I was discharged with some medication, while Damien needs to stay for an extra two days so they can keep an eye on him after the blood transfusion before he can return.
I sit by his bedside, looking at a magazine but not really reading it. He's asleep currently, and he's been sleeping since he came out. Maybe they drugged him.
He looks so at peace when he's sleeping. His long lashes fan out downwards, his biceps still bulge and his lips stay plump and perfect. He's in a hospital gown that barely fits him.
Another long hour goes by, and my phone is at 6 percent. I hope Mason is rotting in jail right now. The door creaks open and a man who I recognise walks in. "Danté!"
I jump up to say hi, but he doesn't look so happy. "I can't stay for long." He tells me, then he looks at his brother, longing and sadness in his eyes. "Was it successful?" He asks.
"Yes, he's just resting now." I reply. "You should at least wait for him to awaken."
"Boss- I mean Mason has been arrested and he's being locked up until his trial." He announces, and I'm relieved. Hopefully me and Damien are finally safe again, our lives can go back to normal and those attacks will stop.
I'm honestly lucky to be alive right now. If Damien hadn't found me, who knows what would've happened to me.
And lately, I can't seem to get him out of my mind. He's everywhere I go, work and breathe. To be truthful with you, I don't want it to stop. As aggravating or confusing as he may be, I can't seem to stay away from him.
"He's waking up." Danté says, and I'm snapped out of my thoughts. I immediately scurry over to his bedside, seeing him open his eyes for the second time.
He clears his throat, then he sees me. "Soleil." His hand comes up to touch my face, his thumb lightly sweeping over my cheek. I exhale, happy that he's alive. "Did you miss me?" He asks.
"Not much." I lie. I missed him very much. Even though it's only been a few days since we've been able to properly speak to each other. We still need to talk about the two big elephants in the room though. The twitter post and Danté...
I'm about to mention him when I notice that he's left the room. I quickly check through the door frame, but he's nowhere to be seen in the hallway. "Who are you looking for?" Damien asks. I walk back over to him.
"A doctor or nurse. But I don't think it matters." I lie. It's the second time he's disappeared, and I think he's avoiding Damien.
He tries to sit up, grunting in pain but he manages. Even in the hospital, injured, I still can't take my eyes off him. And I don't think he can either. His eyes flit down to my lips then back at my eyes.
Shaking my head with a smile, I bend down and give him a quick kiss on the lips. His head jolts up and tries to kiss me again but I don't let him. "We can't. Not when you're in a state like this." I whisper.
"It's just a kiss. It's only my abdomen that's affected, not my face. Now come here." I'm afraid he's convinced me, and his hand pulls me closer to him.
As our lips are about to touch, the nurse swings the door open and I scramble away from Damien. The nurse raises her brow, her eyes glancing between us, before brushing it off and Damien makes a little frustrated noise.
She checks up on him, then leaves shortly after. Damien yanks my hand, making me fall on his lap. "Let's get back to what we were doing. Climb on."
