Chapter 12: Anticipation

Joe's POV

Friday Afternoon ( Day of Leaving )

I drive home from school almost speeding down the road, my flight wasn't until five, but I just want to be at the airport early just to be safe. When I get to my house, my dads already ready to take me to the airport. I get my bags from upstairs and bring them down as quickly as I can, then I take them to my dad's truck and load them in the back. We both get in and start to drive to the airport which is around a half an hour away. 

I still can't believe I'm going to see her tonight or tomorrow, Kate said maybe tonight if I didn't get in too late so hopefully the flight has no delays. They say that the flight is about three to four hours long, so I should get there around eight, I just hope that I can see her tonight. If I do see her tonight, it's gonna be a surprise. I can't wait to see her face.

" You excited? " My dad asks with a smirk already knowing the answer.

" More than you can imagine. " I say with the biggest smile, the girl I've been dying to see is going to be in my presence soon. Everything is gonna be amazing. When we get to the airport, we get out and get my bags, then start walking in. Theres a lot of people just like last time, its weird to think that the last time I was here, she was leaving me. 

When we get my suitcase onboard, we start heading to the security where I'm gonna have to leave my dad.

" Now Joe, be safe. And don't make any stupid mistakes if you know what I mean. " He says making me feel uncomfortable, I knew exactly what he meant. 

" Ok dad. " I say giving him a hug goodbye, when I start to walk away, he yells at me " Have fun! "

I smile and nod knowing that it won't be hard. I then continue on through the security, when I get through, I then go and pick a seat by my Jetway. I can board in twenty minutes, I feel my heart race as I hold my ticket. 

Here I come Demi.

Demi's POV

I stare at the TV in the lounge feeling bored, Joe is going to be here tomorrow and I can't stand the wait. Just thinking about it makes me start to feel butterflies in my stomach. It's almost eight here and I'm bored out of my mind, so I walk back up to my room where I find Kate on the phone out on the balcony. I walk to the desk and grab my journal that I had kept Joe's surprise in. 

I had written him a song that had taken me a while just to get it perfect, I can't wait to sing it to him. I look over the lyrics making sure everything is perfect, I can't help but overhear Kate's phone conversation.

" Yeah...we can do that tonight. I'm glad we don't have to wait. " She says making me wonder whats happening tonight.

" Just come in through the lobby and I'll be there. " She says again after a pause, who is she talking about?

" Ok, see you soon. Bye. " She says and then hangs up, she turns around and walks in the room looking surprised to see me here. 

" Oh Demi, I didn't know you were in here. You scared me. " She said looking mysterious, was she hiding something?

" Sorry...who were you talking to on the phone? " I ask wondering if she didn't want me to hear who she was talking to on the phone, was it Joe? Was he coming tonight?

" Oh that was my sister. She's coming tonight and brining me some things I need. " She says looking unsure, my face drops. I was hoping she was talking about Joe.

" Oh cool. " I say closing and putting my journal back on my desk next to my other things.

" So what are you doing the rest of the night? " She asks sitting on her bed looking up at me, I go and sit by her before answering.
