Yu ZiYuan had the hair on her entire body stand on edge. Goosebumps covered her entire body.
Her grandfather...has unleashed something like this.
"That's why my parents were...affected by this plague. Because of Zidian. Back then, this demon had less power back then, but now it has more power due to there being more worshippers............." Yu ZiYuan broke into a cold sweat.
Yu HeiYuan was shocked speechless.
"...I...don't know what to say. This...I actually admired this weapon so much...who knew it was the cause of such disasters..." her eyes glossed over.
Yu ZiYuan huffed, "No time for that. HeiYuan, we have to tell A-Xian and WangJi about this as soon as possible."
Jiang Cheng stood up, "There is not a moment more to waste."
However, the next moment, Jiang Cheng had his eyes wide open, panic took over him.
"There...there is trouble in YunMeng.....we have to teleport there, at once!" He almost yelled in despair.
Yu ZiYuan knew what he was talking about. It was a small talisman he had set up in the docks, that would go out burning within the slightest out of range change.
Yu ZiYuan was almost certain something would happen to Lotus Pier while they were gone.
"I told you, didn’t I? Learned from experience." her eyes hardened.
Jiang Cheng had been accumulating his energy all the time. He clenched his fists. His purple eyes shone with more determination than ever.
"Let's go." Jiang Cheng started to activate the talisman. Yu ZiYuan turned around swiftly, "Uncle, HeiYuan, we will be back later. We will need your powers. I trust you will help us with this."
"We must, in order to save Meishan." Yu HeiYuan nodded, a face determined, that looked quite similar to Yu ZiYuan, "Be careful."
"Yes please. This issue, it's extremely dangerous." Said the elder uncle with white and black hair, a frown painting his face. He believed her, but he worried about fate.
The wind changed the next moment. Yu ZiYuan opened her eyes, and the first thing she saw was not what she had expected.
It was the same barrier that Lotus Pier had established. The same barrier as so many years ago.....
And inside the barrier, Wei WuXian was playing the flute, Lan WangJi was fighting the many fierce corpses outside the barrier, with relative ease, along with the many skilled Jiang disciples.
"Wei WuXian!" Jiang Cheng yelled, his voice coated in anxiety. He couldn’t lose his brother again, not now, not ever.
Wei WuXian turned around, sweat coating his forehead and dripping down his chin. He must have been having a hard time controlling these fierce corpses for some reason. He seemed to be trying to control them and use resentment at the same time.
Jiang Cheng swiftly zapped Zidian to crack a small repairable hole on the barrier for Yu ZiYuan and him to enter the battlefield.
"This...what do they want????!??!" Jiang Cheng cut down a fierce corpse with Sandu, jumping on another swiftly.
Yu ZiYuan didn’t remain standing eitherx dodging an attack from a corpse, "I am guessing it’s me they want. And Zidian."
Lan WangJi gritted his teeth with realisation. They had found out the truth.
Yu ZiYuan yelled at the disciples, "Everyone! Make the Lotus formation! Wei Chianbei!" Yu ZiYuan swiftly went inside the barrier, taking Zidian from Jiang Cheng with skillful hands. There was a small crack in the barrier as she reached the other side, "A-Xian."
Wei WuXian knew what to do. Now was the time. And there wasn’t a moment to lose of this perfect timing.
He concentrated. Hard. And as he did, he found the source of the dark energy.
"Aunt Yu, I found him." his brows were knitted, his eyes closed, his flute clutched on his right hand, his left hand pointed, "There!"
Yu ZiYuan grinned.
Swiftly she ran with Zidian towards the place behind the docks.
Fast, swift, determined. Her face was excited and bold, with no doubt.
"Found you!" with one swift movement, she gave him a heavy smack on his neck, making him unconscious. But that seemed to be a mistake, as the cube didn’t have anyone controlling anymore, making the energy run out of control.
Yu ZiYuan gritted her teeth, her eyes narrowing, "I have to tie him up and make him come to consciousness."
As soon as she extended a hand to tie him up, her hand was grabbed, and twisted to her hand to her back swiftly, a sick smile on his face, "You really thought a weak hit like that would knock me out?"
Yu ZiYuan instantly remembered the body she possessed. It wasn’t as strong as her own body.
She stepped on the man's feet, playing it dirty, which caught him off guard, and ended up releasing a hand of hers, with which she elbowed him, with all the force she had.
That resulted in her being free, and Yu ZiYuan attacked with her sword. The man came out of the shadows to dodge her attack.
He landed on his feet, but his eyes instantly displayed his dismay. Yu ZiYuan's lips curled up, "Got you. Get him! It’s him!"
The cube released even more energy, making even more fierce corpses come out of the ground.
Lan WangJi made a deep, burning sound with his zither that stilled everything. Dozens and dozens fell on the ground, yet more were coming.
Yu ZiYuan threw Zidian to the approaching Jiang Cheng, who used it to tie the man up in a loop. Yu ZiYuan threatened him with a dangerous glare that could burn thousands of mountains if there was a flare of it manifesting, "Stop this now, or you are dead."
The controller pffted, and then laughed out loud, "Kill me then! I will die for our Lord."
Wei WuXian made his own resentment energy enter into his veins, "Say that again."
The man groaned in pain, his eyes turned wide, the cube fell out of his hands.
"Do it, now." Jiang Cheng zapped him, "You will continue to suffer like this. Wei WuXian is an expert in torture. You won't have an easy time."
The corpses were being handled by Lan WangJi and the other Jiang disciples, so Jiang Cheng didn’t have to worry much.
"Never- ah!!!" The pain was far worse than the man had imagined.
"You will keep suffering like this." Yu ZiYuan forced it more. But to no avail, the man wouldn’t admit it. At one point, his mouth was left open with no screams, his eyes were devoid of light.
"He is dead." Jiang Cheng spat out in frustration.
"The cube- fuck it won't stop." Yu ZiYuan yelled, and looked at Wei WuXian, who was motioning for her to come over to him with Zidian.
Yu ZiYuan gave Jiang Cheng a look. He understood.
He understood and didn’t waste another second. Wei WuXian breathed in deeply. It was time for him to use Empathy again.
Jiang Cheng knew this. Run. Run. Faster.
The disciples were slowly losing their strength. He couldn’t let another disaster happen.
Wei WuXian stepped out of the barrier as soon as Jiang Cheng came to him with Zidian.
He didn’t waste another second, his eyes turned red, and as soon as it did, he ran, towards the corpse of the man.
"Handle the situation here, Jiang Cheng, Aunt Yu."
"I will guard you, A-Cheng, go help the disciples. It's time we know the truth. A-Xian, don’t stay too long. There isn’t much time left." Yu ZiYuan warned, unsheathing her silver glaring sword.
"I am counting on you guys. Lan Zhan! Jiang Cheng! You two! Be careful too. Aunt Yu, I am going in." Wei WuXian put his full trust in her.
Yu ZiYuan nodded, "Go."
