**Akshita's POV**
"I HATE YOU!" Aadhya screamed at the top of her lungs, causing my ear muscles to feel like they would burst any second as I covered my ears. "Seriously, itna sab kuch ho gaya and tu mujhe ab bata rahi hai?!" she asked me in complete disbelief.
"You could've asked me for help, Akshita! But I think you don't consider me your friend, right?" she added, and I felt guilty for making her feel this way. "Aesa kuch nahi hai, Aadhya. It just... everything happened in the blink of an eye, and I was just going with the flow..." I tried to help her understand my perspective.
"And because of Yug's condition, my mind wasn't in a sane state," I added as my eyes started tearing up, and she listened, her features softening. She held both of my shoulders. "Akshita, I'm sorry! But you could have told me, marrying some stranger just because of a contract? It just doesn't make any sense to me!" she spoke, her concern visible.
And at that moment, I realized I hadn't only made a friend but found a sister.
"Fine, leave that. But you could have just informed me," the hurt was visible in her eyes. "I'm really sorry. I know I should have told you, but believe me, all the things happened so quickly that even I was not able to—"
"Acha thik hai! Ab ye suar jaisi shakal mat bana," she returned to her usual demeanor, but her features remained soft. "Per agar tune ab mujhse kuch bhi chhupaya aur akele kisi typical Bollywood movie ki sab chup-chap sehne wali typical character bani, toh fir tu dekhiyo! Aayi baat samajh?!" She pointed at me, threatening me openly.
"Yes, Ma'am!" I said before we both burst into soft giggles.
"Vaise sach mein yaar, teri life ka ye chapter toh ek dum kisi movie ki tarah hai! I mean, tu literally ek contract marriage mein hai," she said dramatically, throwing her hands in the air, and her eyes shining with amusement.
"It's unbelievable!"
"Well, believe toh humein bhi nahi hua abhi tak..." I muttered, gazing at absolutely nothing in particular.
"Vaise, vo handsome tujhe pasand hai kya?"
"What?!"
"I mean, agar pasand hai toh bata de, teri baat aage mein badhaungi.... So, tell me?" she asked, her eyes twinkling mischievously, making me chuckle at her talks which make no sense.
"Pagal hai tu!" I slapped her forehead playfully. "Vo toh mein hu! Koi shak?" And again, we burst out laughing.
Currently, we are in the cafeteria of the college after attending our classes, and we got a free period as the last lecture got cancelled. "But where's this Sahil? This guy always takes atleast two hours to use the washroom!" Aadhya exclaimed, referring to her boyfriend and my friend.
Actually, they have been together since childhood as friends and now as soulmates (in their language).
"Agar tum logon ki panchayat khatam hui toh, chale?" Sahil spoke nonchalantly, casually adjusting his wristwatch band after he returned from the washroom. With that, we stood, left the cafeteria area, and walked towards the parking lot.
