Finally, the wait was over and they had reached their destination. As they approached the end of the road, the line of trees began to thin, revealing a wide, open space ahead. And right in the middle of it all was a serene ghat, stretched long and graceful beside the still lake. The water shimmered gently, catching the mellow glow of the setting sun, as if the sky had leaned down to kiss its surface. The whole place felt peaceful and untouched.

Akshita's quick steps halted abruptly, her eyes widening at the serenity of the sight. Her lips parted as she exhaled softly, taking a moment to truly process everything.

She couldn't bring herself to blink, not when the view unfolding before her felt this calming, this surreal.

The water stretched far and wide, its gentle waves carrying the soft, golden-orange glow of the setting sun. The light flickered like a whisper and reflected straight into her eyes, turning her gaze into still, glimmering pools.

Everything about the place was quiet but not empty. It felt full. Full of stories, of peace, and of that silent love as well.

Avyay stood behind her, a shy expression resting on his face as he scratched the back of his neck. He wondered if she liked his small surprise... or if it was just a gesture that didn't really deserve a reaction.

Just then, a wave of cool breeze brushed against their skin, carrying the earthy scent of water and soil. The quiet waves against the shore created a soft, harmonious sound like nature humming a lullaby. There was no one around, not till far away. Only the calm of trees, the hum of wind, and a hint of love, blooming quietly between them.

Akshita turned to face him, her brows furrowed in a soft, questioning frown, the kind of expression he could read within seconds.

"Umm... Vo actually... You like sunsets, so..." he mumbled in a low voice, the words tumbling out unsurely. He looked anywhere but at her, suddenly timid for no reason at all.

Akshita's face remained unreadable for a moment, still, calm, almost too quiet. But then, her lips curved into the widest smile he had ever seen. It lit up her face like the sun had slipped down from the sky.

She moved toward him in one instinctive step, almost throwing her arms around his neck. But then she stopped, realizing what she was about to do. Yet still, the joy didn't leave her eyes.

Instead, she stepped back slightly, held his hand in both of hers, and looked up, straight into his eyes.

And Avyay? He stood frozen in place, still trying to catch up with what just happened, still lost in the lingering warmth of her closeness.

"You remembered?" she whispered, so softly that even the lake nearby might've missed it, but not him.

Because her words didn't need volume. They always reached him, even when she didn't say them out loud.

Avyay's gaze softened further, the corners of his lips curving slightly as he replied, "Of course I did... And don't think I'm being too cringey or anything. It's just that..." he scratched his cheek, eyes flicking toward the calm water, "I kinda also wanted to have a ghaat date."
