Movies and Shows I Watched in 2024

Another year gone. And I gotta be honest, I didn't really watch much this year as I mostly watch stuff on YouTube. But I did get to watch a few shows and a few movies this year and I want to give my thoughts on them. Also there might be some spoilers in these!

Fallout

Now I'm gonna be honest I had never played the Fallout games but I have heard of them. And when I heard about this show I was kinda interested it. So me and my friend, Slinky, sat and watched it together. And I gotta say, this show was fantastic and I think it's one of, if not THE, best video game adaptation ever. I loved the world, the cinematography, the music and the characters.

I loved Lucy and The Ghoul (or as Slinky and I dubbed him, Cowboy Voldemort 😆) and I also love Norm, Lucy's little brother, and his whole story about trying to find the secrets of the Vault.

Maximus is an alright character I just hate that he continually lies about everything but he did get better towards the end and I hope they improve on him in season 2, which I am very excited for.

The Boys Season 4

So, The Boys is one of my favorite shows ever and I will say this season was good but not as good as the previous seasons. I know people are mad about how the whole season is just filler and set up for the next season and honestly that's what I expected especially after they announced that the 5th season is the final season.

I do think the season could've been better written and I also think they focused more on gross out and sex humor than actual story. Frenchie and Kimiko's story really should've been either scrapped or fixed cause it just felt like a rehash of their arcs from the previous seasons. I know people didn't like that Frenchie was with a guy at the beginning of the season even though Frenchie kinda hinted that he liked both men and women before. I do agree that his relationship with the guy (I don't remember his name) was kinda out of nowhere, not really well developed and then just tossed aside almost halfway through the season.

Firecracker was kind of a wasted character cause she doesn't really do anything except to simp over Homelander and to piss Starlight off all because Starlight said something mean to her when they were kids.

Sister Sage is interesting but I am kinda worried how they're gonna handle her in the final season. Whenever you write a character that's supposed to be the smartest person ever, you're gonna hit some roadblocks on how to handle the character.

Homelander continues to be the most interesting character in the show and Anthony Starr continues to kill it as this character and show he is one of the better actors in the show. And that fourth episode showed that!

This season also did something I didn't think it would accomplish, it made me like A-Train. This season really made a great turnaround with A-Train with this redemption arc they wrote and it became one of the highlights from this seasons.

I also just feel so bad for Hughie, the poor man just goes through so much in this season with his mom coming back, his father died (which spectacular performance from Simon Pegg and he had an easiest paycheck during this season since most of his screen time being asleep....well he did had the easiest one until a certain someone came in at the end lol), and then he gets assaulted right after his dad dies. It was just crazy. Oh and he basically gets assaulted again when the shapeshifter turns into Starlight and slept with him a lot.

Like with Frenchie and Kimiko, M.M. keeps repeating his character arc from the previous seasons of him fighting within himself of whether to stay with The Boys or be with his family.

Butcher has also continued to be an interesting character with everything he goes through but I do wish Jeffery Dean Morgan's character was actually real and not all in his head but I guess we will see how this all turns out in the next season. And I know people were mad how Butcher turns "evil" but...it's not surprising considering how much he hates Supes (and that's kinda what happens in the comics).
