Hey, everyone! So here is mine and Slinky's reaction moments to Episode 3.
Title Card Comes On, Pedro's Name doesn't appear.
RJ: Oh, Pedro's not in the credits.
Slinky: He wasn't even under the sheet.
RJ: He was too busy filming Gladiators 2 and Fantastic Four
Slinky: Yeah, that's the real reason he was killed.
Tommy walks in and sees Joel's body
RJ: Poor Tommy.
Therapist comes to see Ellie
Slinky: Watch her be an actual therapist to Ellie than Joel.
RJ: Yeah.
Ellie crying over Joel's jacket and then trying to stop her tears when Dina calls out to her.
RJ: That was a well done scene.
Slinky: Yeah and good acting from Bella
Tommy learning about the Wolves
Slinky: Well time to abandon my wife and child.
RJ: *chuckle*
Random squirrel appears on a road
Slinky: Dean!
RJ: *snorted*
The Scars appear
RJ: Oh, is it time to focus on side characters again, Neil?
Jesse giving Ellie good advice
Ellie: Oh cause I'm stupid?
Jesse Cause you're angry...
Slinky: And stupid.
RJ: *chuckles* Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. She's been told she's reckless.
Therapist drinking beer
RJ: Do you drink anything else?
Slinky: Does Dean drink anything else?
RJ: Eh, you got a point. 😒
Tommy talking about Joel with Gail
Tommy: He lashes out...
Slinky: When has he ever lashed out?
RJ: *chuckle* That's what I'm thinking.
Dina talking to Ellie
RJ (about Dina's jacket): Why does her jacket look like Clem's from season 2?
Slinky: Because they're ripping that off too.
Seth appearing with Dina and the horse
RJ & Slinky: Bigot sandwich guy! 😀
Seth: I'd come with you but I caught some friendly fire on New Years.
Ellie: You sure it was friendly?
RJ: He's helping you out, Ellie, shut the fuck up!
Slinky: *chuckles*
Ellie and Dina in a tent to get out of the rain.
Slinky: Is this where we get our lesbian sex scene?
RJ: *laugh* That's what I was just thinking. We didn't get in in the last episode, are we gonna get it here?
The Ending
Slinky: I feel like this episode was a lot better.
RJ: That's what I'm thinking. Like am I crazy or was this actually good? Do we just have the bar set so low from second game that we like this version way more?
Slinky: I guess so.
RJ: *chuckles* That's funny.
This episode we didn't really have any critiques as we actually kinda liked the episode. So these are some positives we had with a couple of criticisms.
It's actually better than the previous two episodes. We're starting to think we might actually like the show as it seems to making a better sequel than the actual game.
Bigot Sandwich Man is the MVP
show Dina is better than her game counterpart and has a personality and more agency.
The green screen and CGI is still noticeable
It seems the writing for Ellie has gotten better and Bella is getting better at acting.
But time will only tell.
I know there's been backlash on about Dina and Ellie's relationship in this episode but I'm gonna be honest...I like how it's being handled in the show better. To me, in the game, Dina and Ellie's relationship came off as very insta-love and I hate immediate love like that. Cause it just comes off as you only like this person cause they're physically attractive. I know the game states they had a friendship and we got to see a bit of that when we go on patrol with Dina but we didn't get to see the friendship develop, we're just told about it or hinted at it.
I also know people are upset about Tommy not running off to Seattle first but guys remember, not only he has a community to look after, he has a family including a young child. Now, more than likely, he and Jesse are gonna meet up with Dina and Ellie in Seattle but I guess we will see.
But strangely, so far at least, the show is handling the story of the game better which is so funny to me cause I didn't like how season 1 handled the story of the first game. But like I said, I guess I had such low expectations from having dealt with the game that the show is coming off better by comparison lol.
But anyway, let me know what you guys think!
