I'm not sure what to even say. I'm not really good at this or write down how I feel, it's honestly hard for me to talk about my feelings. What was supposed to be a fun time at Universal Studios turned into an utter tragedy. November 5th, My sister, her friend, and I found some extra tickets to go back to Epic Universe as we only got one day in our vacation package. Slinky didn't want to go as she wanted to stay behind at the hotel and relax, so we left around 11 o'clock.
Even while at the park, I texted her every now and then and she responded. The last time she responded was like 5:20 pm. We didn't leave Epic Universe until around 9:45 that evening as I was starting to not feel good (the day before I had developed some sort've bad cold or flu I'm not sure but on this day I was feeling a bit better thanks to DayQuil). We made it back to the hotel at about 10 and entered only to see Slinky on the ground, her head propped up against the wall, not moving or even breathing (my sister even touched her leg to try to wake her but exclaimed that Slinky was cold).
So we called 911 and they did all they could but it was too late.
It was just so surreal of what was going on. I kept hoping that I was just having a bad dream but unfortunately it's not a dream, it's real. You never think something like that would happen to you but life loves to throw a curveball.
I got introduced to Slinky when I read her Harry Potter fic on her old profile (which she admitted to me that she was embarrassed by that fic and was glad that fic was gone when her profile got deleted). And I believe she told me that my first fic of mine she read was Fantastic Beasts and Where to Fine Them. I am trying to remember the first time I actually talked to her; I believe it was when I commented on her Cartoon Network one shot fic and I asked her to do a one shot of Samurai Jack which she did.
I wanna say we didn't officially talk until after my Uncharted fic and I asked for her help on doing different characteristics for characters which she gave me a guide she used. We slowly started talking more often after Last of Us 2 came out and we just gave our thoughts on it. Then, about a year later, I got into Red Dead 2 and started to play Red Dead Online that's when we got to actually talk and hear each other's voice for the first time.
Once we sent each other friend request on Facebook, that's when we started just talking to each other almost everyday.
I don't remember how it go prompted but I mentioned to her about Supernatural and she went to watch it and immediately got hooked on it. And as you guys could tell she became a big fan of Sam Winchester, to the point she was a big defender of his and would sometimes get into online arguments about Sam in either Twitter or Tik Tok, it was kinda funny to hear about the arguments she'd get into. I also got her into Breaking Bad and she enjoyed it and I believe she watched all of Better Call Saul before she passed.
She did try to get me into things she liked. Like Mass Effect was like her big favorite. She tried to get me into that but the mechanics of the first game was just bad and I got frustrated and then I jumped to the sequel to give it a try. I beat it but...it just didn't capture my interest and didn't really feel like getting into the third game. She is the one that got me into to Resident Evil, she had to help me with those games as I'm bad with puzzles lol.
I also think there was a couple of shows she wanted me to give a try like Gravity Falls, I just never got around to it cause I was just busy. She also wanted me to try Metal Gear Solid. And now I feel like I should give those a try now, I just wish I got to them sooner.
I'll also never forget the games we actually got to play together like Split Fiction, A Way Out, It Takes Two, Resident Evil 5 & 6, Fallout 76. And even the movies and shows we watched together: The Boys, Gen V, Fallout, The Last of Us, John Wick 1-3, Muppets Christmas Carol, Home Alone 1 & 2.
