The New Girls

Chapter 18

"Three new pack members." Jeremy said with excitement.

"As far as we know." Clay replied.

"This is most wonderful." Jeremy said leaving the room.

Elena stormed upstairs quickly and I knowing full well why. Clay and Nick start toward the stairs but I stopped them.

"You guys won't do any good, let me." I said.

I go upstairs to find Elena in her room crying. Instead of saying a word which wouldn't help at a time like this I hug her.

"Time will heal it." I finally said.

"Thanks, but I'm fine." Elena promised wiping away the tears.

"Elena bottling it up won't fix anything. Accept what's happened, grieve, and then move on." I suggested.

"I have been trying. Really, I'm okay let's go celebrate." Elena said.

"You sure?" I asked.

"Yeah, the news just opened some old wounds." Elena explained.

"I understand, just know I'm here if you need to talk." I said leaving the room.

 I went back downstairs to find Nick and Olivia looking at baby stuff online.

"I forgot how much they are alike." I whispered to Clay.

"I know, we are gonna be hearing about this for years." Clay chuckled.

"You know we can hear you right?" Nick questioned.

"Yeah, who said we cared." I argued.

I grabbed Clay's arm going outside. Every minute I thought about the twins the more I got freaked out my the mutt.

"What are you doing?" Clay asked as I started taking off my clothes.

"We are running cause I can't run alone." I answered.

"Why?" He inquired.

"Cause the more I think about having twins the more worried I get that something is gonna go wrong. The only way to calm myself down is to run." I explained.

"Fine." He finally agreed.

We both stripped the rest of the way pushing the change. After we both took our wolf form we sprinted off. I was still much faster than Clay so I kept having to slow down for him to catch up. We ran for a few hours when Jeremy called us back.

"What's up Jeremy?" I asked walking back into the kitchen putting my shirt back on.

"Who was with you?" Jeremy questioned.

"I was." Clay said coming into the kitchen also.

"Okay good, don't want anyone out alone. Dinner is done that's why I called you in." Jeremy said.

I helped set the food on the table while Olivia set the plates. Elena came down seconds after everything was set up so we all sat down to eat. About twenty minutes into dinner everyone was talking baby stuff. I tensed up just because I hated talking about all that all the time to my relief the doorbell rang. I stood up to get it but Jeremy ordered me to sit back down. When Jeremy opened the door I recognized the voice. It was my brother, Alex's; best friend.

"Hi, my name is Gina and I am looking for Carter Bailey." She said.

I came to the door before Jeremy could say anything.

"Gina what are you doing here?" I asked.

"I am looking for Alex he told me he would call me a few months ago to set up a date of sorts after I got back." Gina replied.
