The New Girls

Chapter 5

"Aaron, what are you doing here?" I questioned hugging him.

"I wanted to see my little sister in college of course." Aaron replied laughing.

"I meant what are you doing in my apartment? And how'd you even get in?" I asked nicely.

"I'm in your apartment to see you and the guy here said I could wait for you." He replied smiling, "Who is he anyway?" Aaron asked.

"That was Nick my fiancé, I've been with him for almost seven months now." I answered innocently.

"Wait what?!" Aaron yelled question all over his face.

"Um...." I replied not knowing what else to say.

"You have a fiancé and never told me!" Aaron screamed frustrated.

"I haven't talked to you long enough to tell you and he only proposed three weeks ago." I stated.

"You've been engaged for three weeks and I didn't know?" he asked.

"Yes, like I said I haven't talked to you long enough." I answered.

"You haven't tried hard either." He said annoyed.

"I know, I've been busy with school and meeting his family." I responded innocently.

"Whatever, when is the wedding?" Aaron questioned.

"I wanted to do it in November because of mom and dad." I answered.

"That would be perfect and it's right after your birthday." He said hugging me again.

Nick walked in as Aaron hugged me. It was awkward because they never met each other before. That's when I heard Nick shut the down with a loud thump.

"Hey, hun this is Aaron, my brother." I said gesturing towards Aaron.

"Oh hey, I'm glad we were able to meet." Nick said shaking Aaron's hand.

"Ok, this is routine, I have to talk to you alone. As her older brother." Aaron said ushering toward the kitchen signaling for me to leave.

I did as Aaron wanted and went to the bedroom. I sat on the bed focusing to hear the conversation.

"Ok, I have to be completely honest... I only need to say that if you hurt my sister in anyway I will kill you and no lovey stuff around me it's too weird." Aaron said blankly.

"I will do my best to make her happy. I would never intend to hurt her and I will keep the 'lovey' stuff at a minimum." Nick replied.

"You can come back out here now!" Aaron yelled to me.

I walked into the kitchen pretending like I didn't hear the conversation.

"Am I aloud to know what you guys talked about?" I asked Aaron innocently.

"Are you ever?" he questioned sarcastically.

"No..." I answered even though I already knew.

"Babe, can I speak to you in there?" Nick asked pointing to the room. I nodded and we walked.

"When were you gonna tell me your brother was coming to town?" Nick asked hushed.

"I didn't even know, he just showed up why does it matter?" I questioned.

"Because he wants me to keep the lovey stuff to a minimum but I don't think I can." Nick replied rubbing his hand around my waist.

"Just keep it away around him." I answered going closer to him.
