Chapter XXVII - Confessions

The next day, Jackson gathered the courage to ask Lienne on a date. He was a little more confident than usual because he knew he had made her jealous the other day.

Lienne agreed happily, and of course, she was the one leading the show. "We'll go to that cute café that opened on Monday! I always wanted to go there, their heart-shaped cookies are the most adorable things ever!" She squealed over the phone.

She was so excited that Jackson readily agreed, even though he had never heard of this so-called 'café' before. And so, they settled on going out on Friday.

What Jackson didn't know that Karry was also meaning to ask Lienne out on a second date.

Karry dialed her number and waited patiently before she picked up, "Lienne! Hi! Uh, do you want to go somewhere on Friday?"

Karry could hear the hesitation in her voice, "Um, sorry, Karry. I'm already going somewhere with Jackson."

For a while, Karry didn't respond. He was trying understand what she just told him. Jackson? Asking her out? He must've gotten extremely cocky.

"Karry? Are you still there? I'm so sorry, maybe another time!"

"It's fine! Really, enjoy your date with him." And Karry had hung up without hearing her response.

He wondered why Jackson had a new spurt of confidence. He could've just gathered his courage on the spot, or read something on WikiHow.

Or maybe someone advised him to...

But the question was; who?

Karry racked his brain up to think of who in the world Jackson would go running to for romantic advice. But all the people he thought of just didn't match up.

He knew Kyungsoo was Jackson's best friend and someone he respected highly of, but Kyungsoo had no experience whatsoever. The rest of the Seniors would be highly unlikely, since they were a little awkward around Jackson.

Karry groaned and landed on the bed, why am I bothering over this anyway?

While Karry was contemplating about that. Lienne was distressed over the fact that she might've made Karry angry since he hung up so abruptly. I'll make things up with him soon, she reassured herself and then began daydreaming about her future date with Jackson.

Meanwhile, Jackson had realised a few changes around his house. For one, Rachel didn't cling onto him anymore. Instead, she made doe-eyes at Brian. Jackson almost retched at the sight.

Brian was a little oblivious, but Jackson could tell he was trying to step up his game a little. He wasn't calling Rachel, 'My Lady' anymore, and now was on a first-name basis.

So while the two had their flirtatious banter, Jackson was third-wheeling in the background. Until finally, Brian confessed his love for Rachel in the kitchen while the three of them ate breakfast.
