Chapter 5: Sarah

(Tabitha's POV)

They went in to operate on Sarah 3 hours ago. It's now 1 PM, and I'm getting a bit worried about her. I'm sure she will pull through this, but I just couldn't express my feelings, even if I wanted to. I've known Sarah for some time. Heck, I knew even before she set foot in the Magma Base as a Grunt, but I'm sure she doesn't remember. There are some things she never seems to talk about anymore. And one of those is her family.

She comes from a family of four. And even now I'm not sure how she ended up here with her parents being who they are. They are both Gym Leaders in Hoenn. Wallace and Winona. And I'm pretty sure she dyes her hair, but who knows. Genetic mutation is a thing. She also has a brother, but I don't know too much about him, other than that his name is Steven, and he wants to take over for Wallace as Sootopolis Gym Leader at some point, but I'm not sure when. She came from such a great family. I'm not sure why she ended up here. I'm sure she would've made a great Gym Leader!

But her family is also what scares me. I'm afraid that at some point Maxie is going to take advantage of who her family is once we go to actually get Groudon. I sometimes even have nightmares about it. I see Maxie threatening to hurt Sarah if he isn't given to the Cave of Origins. And I've had worse ones than that, and.Maxie actually ends up beating her, and I just hate those. I hope nothing like that ever happens.

But I actually know a bit more about her. I know that she's been to a few different regions, one of them being Unova. I actually sneaked a peek at her passport the other night. But she was only there for like, 3 days, where she was in other regions for about a week. I'm thinking something happened there that she doesn't like to talk about.

But how am I going to be able to help her with this new change? With her actual arm gone, how will she be able to do anything? 

I started to wonder about that as Maxie came out. "Tabitha." 

I looked up. "Y-yes Maxie, sir?"  

He looked at me. "You can come back now. She's resting, but we're all done." 

I sighed in relief. Sarah was ok. I followed Maxie back to her room, and she was lying in a bed, resting. She is so cute when she sleeps. I never tell her that, but it's the truth. Or at least, I think so.

Maxie looked at me. "I'll be in my office if you need me." Without another word, he turned around, and left. 

I sat by her side, waiting for her to wake up. I loved her. She needs to wake up. I need to tell her that everything's going to be ok. I sighed. I had so much I want to tell her, but I'm not sure how much I will be able to keep as a promise. I need her to recover from this. I couldn't bare the thought of losing her. Even if we'd only been together for a few months, I love her like there's no tomorrow. My life wouldn't be complete with her not there.

At some point I must've dozed off, as when I opened my eyes, Sarah was sitting up, and she... She was... Checking her right arm. But they had removed it. How was she checking it out if they had removed it? I hesitated. "Hey Sarah." 

She looked at me and smiled. "Hey Tabitha. Did you see what they did with my arm?" She paused and chuckled a bit. "Science is amazing." 

I shook my head. "No. What did they do?" 

She smiled. "Come over here. I'll show you." I was on the left side of her bed, so I got up and walked around. I saw what she was talking about. And I was surprised. 

Her entire right arm was there. I looked at her, slightly confused. "How...?" 

She smiled. "Well, I know for a fact that it's robotic." 

I was taken aback for a moment. Her entire right arm is robotic?! "And it's fully functional like a normal arm?" 

She nodded. "Yup. And if I ever have the need to, I can remove it." 

I might've been a bit too quick to react, but I leaned in and kissed her. She blushed, and pulled me on the bed with her, kissing back. 

I also blushed. "I love you Sarah." 

She smiled. "I love you too Tabitha." I then kissed her again, but this time with more intensity, and she did the same as she continued the kiss.

We eventually broke from it, and I looked at the clock. It was almost 11 PM. 

I yawned and Sarah giggled a little bit. "Someone's tired, I see." 

I nodded. "Yeah..." 

She then did something that caught me a bit off guard. She pulled me down on the bed with her. She smiled and ruffled my hair. "Get under the sheets." 

I blushed a bit. "You really want me to sleep in here with you?" 

She nodded. "Of course I do." I then got under the sheets with her. The bed was a little small, but we managed.  She snuggled me, and I snuggled her, and at some point, we both dozed off.
