Chapter 14: Colliding Plans

(Lauren's POV)

I looked at Tabitha. "This can't be good."

Tabitha nodded. "Yeah. What should we do?"

I thought for a moment. We should still go and help Sarah, but since Maxie, the Leader of Team Magma, is here, I feel as if we shouldn't. "I'm not sure, Tabitha..."

He then grabbed my arm, and looked at me. "I actually have a good idea."

"And what is that?" I asked him.

"Well," he said. "Maybe we could become our Pokémon forms and split up? I could go see if I can catch up with Wallace, and you can stick with Winona and Maxie."

I thought for a moment. That actually sound like a good idea.

"Alright. It's a deal."

With a nod, Tabitha became his Absol form, and ran off into the Team Aqua Base.

I waited for him to disappear, and I then became my Lucario form, and went and hid behind some bushes near Winona and Maxie. I made sure to make a noise to grab their attention.

"Hey," Maxie said. "Did you hear that Winona?"

I peered out of the bushes, and saw Winona nod. "Yeah. It sounded like it came from the bushes..."

Maxie sighed, taking her hand. "Well, let's see who it is."

With a nod, they both threw a Poké Ball. Maxie sent out his Charizard, and Winona sent out her Altaria.

Hm. I like impulsive decisions, so I decided that I would actually fight them.

I fired an Aura Sphere at Altaria before jumping out of the bushes, revealing myself.

"Look Maxie! A Lucario!"

Maxie nodded. "I see that, Winona. Call back Altaria. I'll take care of this Lucario."

With a nod, Winona returned her Altaria, and it was just me and Charizard.

I then used a Drgon Pulse, knowing that Bone Rush would do nothing. Charizard flew up in the air to dodge. I then decided to Mega, and Charizard did the same, becoming Mega Charizard X.

Heh. Now I have an advantage. Mega Charizard X is a Fire/Dragon-Type, which means I'll be able to use Bone Rush.

I did just that, knocking Charizard to the ground. I was about to deliver an ending blow when Maxie suddenly returned Charizard.

"You did well, Lucario. Although, I know you aren't a, ah, pure Lucario, if you would.

Wait. How did he...?

He then came over and pat my head as Mega Evolution wore off. "I know who you are," he said with a grin. "You can't fool me, Lauren."

I took a defensive step back, not sure how he knew it was me. I then sighed as I changed back, and looked him in the eye. "How in the world did you know, Maxie?"

He chuckled. "Ah. Have you forgotten? We have battled before, you know."

"Oh. Yeah. That's right."

Winona then looked at me. "Wait... You know Maxie?"

I nodded. "Yeah. I kinda live near the Team Magma Base. Well, more like I live right in between the Team Magma and Team Aqua Bases."

Winona nodded. "Ah. I see. So, Lauren, what exactly brings you to the Team Aqua Base?"

I grit my teeth. "Y'see, I'm trying to help Sarah... And Tabitha is here too, but I'm not sure where he went..."

Maxie sighed, walking over to me. "Oh. I think I know where he is," he said as he crossed his arms.
