MIDNIGHT could see the displeasure in his big brother's face at his greeting, but his fake smile remained. He shouldn't try to be close to his brother. That would put his brother in danger. He had to bide his time until it was safe to approach him.

But it was utterly uncomfortable to call his big brother by his name. Calling him 'Knight' instead of 'brother' makes his skin crawl, but he had to endure this uncomfortable feeling.

His mask must not be broken.

He thought he would be happy to see his brother again, but he thought wrong. It was suffocating to see be in front of and not be able to call him big brother.

He regretted coming here and seeing the displeasure on his brother's face. He knew it was not targeted at him, but he still caused it. At that moment, he was once again reminded that he lived a different life with his brother and that he didn't know much about him.

Fortunately, the meeting was successful. It was the first time all the continental bosses had gathered. The first topic of the meeting was the introduction, the second one was information sharing and the last one was the plan of the continental bosses for the next three years where they would meet again.

After the meeting, he thought he'd be able to stay with his brother for a few days when he was fetched by their father's subordinate. It seemed his big brother knew the man, too, because he had stopped walking toward him midway.

"Let's go. Don't dally." His father's subordinates said before leaving.

Midnight looked back at his brother before walking after his father's subordinate. They were about to step inside the elevator when a hand grabbed his wrist.

He looked back and saw his brother. Midnight suppressed his surprised expression and smiled. "Need anything? I have to go. Father is waiting."

Nagtagis ang bagang ni Knight sa naririnig at napatitig siya sa mukha ng nakababatang kapatid. Fake smile and pretentious attitude—he felt like he was being punched in chest over and over again. Ang ayaw niyang maranasan ng kapatid niya, nararanasan na nito.

What was the use of everything he did if his brother had to face him with a fake smile?

"Can we talk?" Knight asked Midnight.

"Sorry, but we need to hurry." It was his father's subordinate who spoke. "The plane will leave in less than an hour. We're pressed for time."

Let's not be stubborn, Midnight decided. This might backfire on Kuya if I didn't listen.

Midnight pulled his wrist back before silently stepping into the elevator with his father's subordinate.

As the elevator door slowly closes, he could see his brother's dark expression and sharp gaze. Napalunok siya saka agad na nagbaba ng tingin at nagpanggap na parang walang nakita.

As the elevator's door finally closed, a memory of his brother suddenly flashed into his mind.

"Just promise me when you became a boss that you'll come find and get me." He heard his own voice saying this.

"Promise. I'll come find and get you."

The memory stopped and Midnight felt dizzy for a moment. What was that? Was it a memory? But he didn't remember his brother promising him like that.

What was happening?

He wanted to call Silvanus so bad, but he knew he couldn't. He was under surveillance by his father. One wrong move and his mask would be broken.
