Chapter 60
Back on his High School years, Darius always see this girl in one of his favorite bars. She’s always alone in a table drinking herself to death. She’s pretty, attractive and sad.
Darius never got interested in meddling into anyone’s life untidiness but he felt different with this girl, he can’t just ignore her. He felt that this girl needs help, he doesn’t know what from but he thought that he can save her.
He find some ways to make this girl talk to him. He would sit near her table just to watch her for hours.
“What’s this?”-the girl asked the waiter who serve her a drink
“Pink Gin Ma’am from the Sir on that table”-the waiter pointed on the table where Darius is
She lifted the glass as a sign of thank you then drank it bottoms up.
She asked the waiter for a piece of paper and a pen and she wrote something
[My name’s Irene. Now leave me alone. Thank you]-Darius read the message from Irene
He doesn’t know what’s gotten into him that he stood up and made his way to her
“Darius”-and he offered his hand for handshake
Irene just stared at him.
“hey”-she said without looking at him and not taking his hand
“hey back”
“Don’t you know how to read? I sure had a nice penmanship if your excuse is the words written were not clear”-Irene said with sarcasm
“You wrote there your name, so I assume you’re interested to know my name too”-Darius answered not taking defeat by this daunting girl
“Cocky much?”-she grinned
“Cocky me”
She pulled out a chair on her side and he sits.

“Darius, thank you for showing me that I can still be happy, that I’m still worthy of someone’s love. My dad left me, my mom did too. No else is left... it’s only you that I have now”-Irene
