You had spent almost the entire car ride in silence, but you decided to break first.
"Rodrick, I seriously had a really good time. I'm sorry that we had to end the date. But don't you think something is going on if Greg called about me too?" You try to convince yourself when saying that. But even you know there's a possibility nothing is going on. Rowley must suspect you're out together and he probably doesn't like that. Would he try to play it off as overprotective?
"Rowley probably had something to do with it. He has never really liked me." Rodrick says, eyes on the road, both hands gripping the wheel.
"You think they lied about needing to see me?" Your eyebrows scrunch together, not sure of what he was implying.
"No, I think there might be something, sure. But I know for a fact you don't want Rowley to find out we were together. I know he thinks I'm a piece of shit." Rodrick's voice becomes deep and void of emotion. Is he acting defensive or uncaring? It was hard to tell.
"You two have history, right? He just doesn't know you like I do. He also can't control who I spend my time with."
"And yet, here we are. Driving back to him," Rodrick's voice shocks you. How can he just say it like that? "If you want, I can drop you off a few houses down, so he doesn't see us together."
"Rodrick, are you mad at me?"
"No" he takes a heavy sigh. His hand reaches over and grabs your thigh, massaging the outside with his thumb. "but it's frustrating. I know we said, whatever we are, we'd keep quiet about it. But I would just like to- ah fuck." his voice trails off as he hits the top of the steering wheel.
"What?"
"Okay, I need to get this off my chest." He looks in the mirror and pulls over in front of someone's house. He lets out a sigh as his head drops onto the wheel. "Whatever is going on at home, do you think you could put it off for a little while longer? Please? Like 10 minutes."
"Why?" You don't want to question him, but what other choice did you have? They needed you at home and here you were with Rodrick Heffley. He cuts the engine and turns to you.
"I think I've got a pretty good idea of who you are. You're smart, funny, kind. But you also let others decide your life. I want you to think of a moment where you did something because you wanted to do it. Not to please someone else. Think, recently."
You stared into his eyes and let out a sigh. Closing them again, you turn in your seat to try and look through your memories. You had driven Rowley and Greg to school, was that because you wanted to? No, you drove because you wanted to make him happy when you were crying. You went with them to get ice cream, even though you were still upset about your parents. Where you found Rodrick. You had driven everyone to the fair because you said you would. The only reason you wanted to go was because of Rodrick.
You left your own home to give your parents space for their fucked up marriage.
You went swimming with Rodrick. You went and apologized to him. You went on a date with Rodrick.
Why?
"I know you're thinking about it too, [Y/N]. You are a people pleaser to a fault. You worry about everyone but yourself and it was very apparent tonight talking with you over dinner. You shouldn't give a shit what anyone else thinks. Especially me. Am I sad our date is ending? Yeah. Do I want to kiss you in the back of this van until the windows fog up? Hell yeah. But whatever choice you make, make it for yourself; not because someone else wants you to. Even your own family." Your cheeks heat with the thought of making out with Rodrick. Luckily, it's still too dark to really see each other's faces fully. Even with a distant streetlamp.
"I don't know. I guess I've always been like that. I just- I've always wanted to help people and I know that means self-sacrifice, but I guess... I just have been feeling so lost this last month and have just done whatever people want. I'm living with a family who probably feel pity for me so I feel this need to repay them." Your hands sit in your lap, unsure of where to be. You mess with one of your nails, peeling the nail polish off.
"And [Y/N]? I don't really care what Rowley thinks is best for you. Staying away from me or whatever. If you don't want this bet between us or you just want someone to talk to-"
"I don't want anything from you, Rodrick." You flat out say. Rodrick takes a deep breath, his lips pressed tight together. You can feel your heart racing from being so bold.
"Really?" His hands fall from the steering wheel into his lap. He fidgets with a ring on his left hand. "Well, that's your choice and I'll respect it-"
"I don't WANT you, idiot. I need you." You undo your seatbelt faster than he can react and throw yourself into his lap. Since it was a van, the seats were wider, offering you a place to put your knees. You straddle him and smash your lips onto his. Rodrick reacts to your sudden movements as quickly as he can. One hand heads to your chest, the other grabbing your ass. Your hands move their way through his hair and over his jaw, the stubble adding friction.
Just like in the pool, you grind into him, needing him in this moment. You didn't want anything from Rodrick. It would be rude to ask anything of him. But you needed him. You would beg if you had to. On all fours, crawling to him, kind of begging.
"See," he says, placing both hands on your hips. "This is what," he squeezes. "I meant." You pull on his hair slightly causing him to moan into your mouth, the vibrations urging you on. "You choose for yourself."
You pull away from the kiss, momentarily. Your eyes felt crazy as your chest gulped in the air you were deprived of. You sit up higher, the top of your chin leveled with the top of his head.
"You're right. I do things for others. I people please to no end. But right now, there is only one person I want to please." You look down at him, feeling wild.
"Don't have to tell me twice." He closes the gap between you again. Both of his hands are in your hair now, pulling slightly on the base of your neck. It's your turn to moan now. It creeps up on you. The feel of his dick getting harder underneath you. This van is too small. At least the front seats are.
You move your hand to try and reposition. Your hand lands on his dick as you gently push down. Alright, maybe that's what you were trying to do anyways. Rodrick pulls away, his hands gripping your arms at your side as if to stop you.
"I said 10 minutes to talk before I took you home. But if you keep this up, we're gonna need to move to the back of this van so I can please you. Do I make myself clear?" His voice was stern and you could see it now. He was holding himself back. You could feel him trying to shift to create distance between you and his - ahem - very hard dick.
"Forget talking. This is what I want. You." You shift your weight slightly and see him wince. This must be torture for him as you sit on his lap.
"I'm only slowing things down - and God, I do not want to," His hands stay in place, thumbs rubbing against you. "But I am asking for your sake. Do you want your first time to be here?" He doesn't say it in a way that seems gross. He seems to genuinely be concerned for you and your choice.
"I just want my first time to be with you. I don't care where-" but he never lets you finish that sentence. All he needed to hear was the yes. He lifts you off of his lap and starts to help you move to the back of the van. There were some blankets and pillows already back there.
"I tend to sleep in here overnight if I'm coming back late from the city." Rodrick says, smacking your ass as you head to the back of the van. As soon as Rodrick is in the back with you, he guides you down to the floor. Your head rests on a large orange pillow as he leans his body over you, not fully on top, but enough to grind into the side of you.
"Instincts, remember? Don't think too much, just do." His hand cups your cheek, his fingers were rough from years of calluses, but they felt soft against your skin.
"Is this where I beg you to fuck me, Heffley?"
"Please do."
