Kate, Lanie and Javier all walked out of Science class with frowns on their faces.
"Man I can't believe she assigned us another project!"
"I know! At least we get to pick partners this time."
"I'm with you chica."
Javi smiled at Lanie.
"I would be with Rick but this class is the only one he's not in with me."
"Be what with you?" Rick asked as he came up behind.
"Hey." Kate exclaimed.
"Hey." He smiled and kissed her cheek.
"Aww, you guys are so cute!" Lanie squeaked.
Kate blushed as Rick winked at her.
"We were just talking about the new science project we were assigned to."
"Ooh."
"Ya, since you're not in that class with me I have to choose someone else."
"Mmm, you'll be fine."
"I know but still."
"Mm hmm." He kissed her head.
"Come on lovebirds, let's eat lunch."

Kate was reading a book under a tree during free period, Rick was in practice with Javi and Lanie was sick at home today.
As Kate read she saw from the corner of her eye and boy walk up.
He was handsome, muscular but not Rick.
She didn't pay attention just kept reading.
"Hey there." He said.
"Can I help you?"
"Ya, mind if I sit?"
"I..I'm reading."
"I see that."
"By myself."
"Why? A pretty girl like you shouldn't be alone."
"Well I am right now, so please leave."
"Sorry." He stated and sat next to her.
"So I'm Josh Davidson, what's your name?"
"None of your business."
"Come on now."
"Why won't you leave!"
"Because I like you."
"Like all you want but I'm taken."
"Probably from some nerd who doesn't deserve you."
What the boy didn't know was Rick had finished practice early and was walking towards Kate when he saw the boy close to her.
He was flirting at her but from what he could see Kate wasn't flirting back.
He was relieved, he knew she would never cheat but still.
"Come on baby."
"Leave me alone!" She started to stand up but he grabbed her wrist.
"Let me go!"
