As Rick tried to say the word Jim chuckled inside but kept a straight face.
He knew about Kate and Rick, Kate had told both of them.
She said Rick was going to ask his permission, Although Ricked looked like he was asking for her hand in marriage not to date her.
"I..I guess I'm just trying to ask.."
"If you can date my daughter?"
"Yes..I mean no.. I mean yeah! Yes Sir."
Jim chuckled and fiddled with his watch.
"Rick, I have absolutely no problem's with you dating Kate, I know you would never hurt her."
"No sir, never."
"Good, now just make sure you treat her like she deserves, in other words.. Like you always do."
"Yes Sir."
Rick smiled, feeling better knowing that Kate's parents were both approving of he and Kate dating.
"Thank's Jim."
"Anytime, now excuse me, Johanna will hurt me if I don't get these steaks grilled."
The 17 year old chuckled and nodded.
"Alrighty." He smiled and walked back into the house.
"Rick, can you go upstairs please? Kate still hasn't come down." Johanna asked.
"Sure."
He smiled and walked up the stairs.
As he was about to knock the door quickly opened and Kate ran right into him.
"Oof!"
"Kate, you ok?"
"Yeah." She laughed.
"You really have been working out!"
She laughed.
"What these." He patted his 6 pack.
