As Omega tries to get accustomed to the different diet of Pabu, her and Lyana have a heart-to-heart under unusual circumstances.
She should've guessed earlier. Omega's had issues with this in the past. She was raised on Kamino, and the diet there was always different. It was simple. Anything else is something she'll always need time to adjust to.
She sort of... forgot about that on Pabu. The place is beautiful. Almost unspeakably so, with the water, the green grass and lights strung everywhere, with the flower patches dotting the walls, and mostly, the people.
The Empire hasn't touched this world. Yet.
But, point being, even if she loves the food here, she still feels sick.
Which is embarrassing. Lyana has been so sweet, and she loves everything about this planet. She doesn't want to come off as rude. This place is really nice. Omega doesn't know what sells her out. Maybe it's the squirming, or... she doesn't know. She's usually good at hiding discomfort from anyone who's not one of her brothers.
"Are you okay?" Lyana asks her finally, face a little worried.
"I, um." Omega freezes up, fumbling, flushing at the awkwardness. "Need to use the 'fresher."
Lyana winces "Oh. Here." She runs down another flight of stairs to what Omega thinks is a public area. "The public 'fresher's up here. You can stay in there for as long as you want. We even have showers."
Oh. That's... nice. Most public refreshers don't, which drives Omega crazy. Kaminoans are very clean. Nala Se was, painstakingly so. Omega missed that about Kamino. One of the few things she does.
She knew it would be nice, because everything on Pabu is, but the one Lyana takes her into is just... nice. Really nice. It's clean. There's no junk on the floors, and the mirrors have been recently washed. The lights are goldish white instead of pure white, a more natural color. Someone actually recently took the trash out. Most places she's seen, well...
Kamino was clean. Sort of. Mostly. Omega blames her brothers' sloppiness for how they got sometimes, but many of the ones she's been to as she traveled the galaxy with her squad can't even compare to those. She practically stopped using public refreshers after seeing the ones on Ord Mantell. They were gross.
But at least they had one. Some planets, well, don't.
And that is even more annoying.
Even if her brothers only make disgusted faces and shrug it off, Omega was a medical assistant and her brain screams germs at all random moments.
"Whoa," Omega murmurs, eyes falling on a bright flower painting strung on one of the walls in the common room. "This really is nice."
Lyana smiles. "Thanks. I'll wait right outside."
Omega heads for the nearest stall though.
She's gonna be stuck in here for a while. Ugh.
Lyana is out there, waiting for her, and it feels rude to take a while. She should be out there, having fun, not stuck in here because she feels sick all the time. Tech's told her to be careful with what she eats, just to avoid things like this, but she still... loses track of that sometimes.
She loves this place. She doesn't want Lyana or anyone to think otherwise.
Phee brought them here, and Lyana was having so much fun showing her around, and she's just... stuck here. Not that she wants to be, but she still is, and it's so dumb. Her brothers don't get affected by stuff like this. They're practically not injure-able.
