Author's Note: This is a first meeting AU. :D

~ Amina Gila

When Omega hears through AZI that Wrecker was injured in a training misadventure, nothing can stop her from going to see him. She didn't quite anticipate that to be their first meeting.

"Wrecker was what?!" Omega hisses, air catching in her lungs. They're not even going on missions yet! They're too young. They're still in training, and her little brother already got hurt?

"He was injured in a training mission," AZI replies, unruffled, "

No. Nonononono –

"What happened to him?" she demands. Omega knew her brothers being hurt in training was a guarantee, but not for them to end up in the medbay over it. Not enough for AZI to know. He wouldn't know unless it was bad, and Omega thought she'd never have to worry about that, because she never has.

"It was an explosion," AZI replies, "I am unaware of the details."

"Was it bad?" she asks, hands clasped together anxiously. "Where – where is he?" Yes, she knows Nala Se strictly forbade her from going to see them, told her that she'd just distract them, but Omega can't believe that. She has to be important to someone. They're the only people who are different, like she is. They – she wants to see them again, and if Wrecker was hurt, then she has to see him.

"It was a head injury." That could be – anything and everything bad, and she can't let him be hurt alone. Maybe the others are there, but she has to go see him.

Omega knows it's gonna be hard to leave again, but she has to see them, make sure they're safe.

Finding her way to the area in question is significantly more difficult, but with a bit of help from AZI, despite his protests, she finally makes it there.

She tiptoes inside, passing the other clones who are in the area – there's only a couple – and moving to Wrecker's side.

Her other brothers are in here, too, though it looks more like they invited themselves into the room than anything else – they're piled around on one of the beds next to Wrecker, though they're all sleeping.

Wrecker's head is wrapped in bandages, and he's hooked up to a few machines of varying kinds. Omega doesn't care to look at the kinds specifically.

He was hit in the head by whatever happened, and she can see the dried blood on his bandages. At least he's not bleeding anymore. She doesn't know how she'd feel if he was.

Wrecker's so big now. His hand is enormous when she takes it. She remembers when he was so small, small enough that she could hold him. He's taller than her now, and much, much bigger. Omega's not exactly skinny, but seeing Wrecker still makes her feel like she is. He was strong even when she knew him, and that's even truer now.

She missed seeing him grow. Missed when he got his name. She read it in his files. She heard it from AZI – her brothers insist on going by their names instead of numbers. Omega wanted to be there when they got their names. She has no idea how it happened.

She's missed so much of their lives.

What if they die before she ever gets to meet them?

Wrecker's hand feels so warm. He's always been warm. Omega misses him.

He was hurt. He could have died, and he's not even on missions yet. He hasn't even done anything or gone anywhere, and he could have died, and Omega never would have gotten a chance to meet him again. She never would have gotten to know him, whoever he is now.
