Omega gets sick on Tantiss but she's not alone as she thought she would be. Not when Emerie is there.
"Omega."
Omega sighs, trailing her fork across the plate in front of her. "What?" She doesn't mean to nearly snap but she's so tired of this.
"You need to eat your meal," Emerie replies gently. She's sitting across from her at the table, in another one of Tantiss' endless gray rooms. Everything is gray here.
She's beginning to hate gray as much as she hates everything else about this place.
She also doesn't like the food at all, even if her and her brothers very occasionally had to have worse. "Is this the only kind of food you ever get to eat?" she asks, with more grumpiness than she intended to be audible in her voice. She grudgingly shoves another bite in her mouth anyway, because Emerie isn't wrong. Their lunch break is going to be over soon enough.
"It is sufficient for our needs," Emerie replies.
Well. Maybe.
Doesn't mean she has to like anything about any of this.
She's also starting to feel a bit sick. Can't tell if it's from the food or just how downright miserable she's feeling. She's exhausted and doesn't want to move at all unless it's to break out. Which she's already thinking about but it's only been a few days and she hasn't figured out anything yet. Not that she could ever think of something that fast and she knows that but – That's certainly not helping.
She hasn't even gotten the chance to talk to Crosshair yet.
She hasn't been able to tell him about Tech either. Doesn't even have a clue how she would tell him about Tech.
How is she supposed to tell him that one of his brothers is dead?
Because he really –
It doesn't feel real. All she can feel is gutted emptiness and disbelief when she thinks about it. It feels like – like when she gets away, Tech will be there waiting with Hunter and Wrecker because why wouldn't he be? But then she remembers all over again, and –
"Plan 99."
"Don't you do it, Tech."
"When have we ever followed orders?"
Forget trying to eat. She's not going to be getting anything down anymore.
It's only making her feel sicker anyway.
"I'm not hungry," Omega mutters finally, shoving her plate away.
Emerie is watching her with a look that appears close to concern. "Are you... alright?"
Is that a serious question?
Maybe it's just the sheer exhaustion and tension of the last few days, how she just lost Tech and now she's captured, and – But something inside of her just snaps at the words. "One of my brothers is dead because of the Empire!" she snaps back, "And I don't even know what happened to the others. So no."
She was happy to have the chance to meet her sister and she still is, but right now she's just so angry. Or it's not anger half as much it is a gutting grief that she doesn't know how to begin facing.
