Chapter 21

I found Jack waiting outside sitting on the floor.

"You were waiting?" I asked.

"Yeah. I tried listening but I couldn't hear anything." He replied. I sat next to him and Ava came out and looked at us then kept walking. "What were you guys talking about anyway?" He asked seeming impatient.

"Girl stuff." I said unmindful. He gave me a face.

"Tell me." He wined.

"It's none of your business." I responded. He rolled his eyes annoyed at me. I put my head on his shoulder and he put his arm around me. I let a breath out and never wanted this moment to end.

"Savannah!?" I looked over to the end of the hall and saw Janey and Kyle. They ran over. I got up and met them half way.

"What are you doing here?" Janey asked. I gave her a hug.

"I'm coming back." I replied.

"What!?" Kyle yelled enthusiastically. I smiled in a responds. Kyle jumped on me and gave me a huge hug. Boy she was happy to see me.

"Have you seen Zack yet?" Janey asked.

"No but I want to talk to him."

"He is really bummed. I haven't seen him all night. To be honest I barely even see him in school anymore." Kyle said. I twisted my mouth.

" I'm going to run over to his house. Maybe he's there." I said. Everyone just okayed me and looked sad.

"Want me to go with you?" Jack asked. I know he just wanted to keep an eye on me because of what Zack told me. I probably should have kept it a secret.

"No, I'll be okay." I said. I kissed him then left. I drove fast to his house. When I got there, I knocked on the door. His mom answered it.

"Hello." She said. I never met her before. She probably had no idea who I was.

"Hi. I'm a friend if Zack's. Is he home?" I asked politely.

"Oh yes. Come on in. He is in his room, first one to the left." She smiled and let me in.

"Thank you." I smiled back. I walked up the stairs and walked into his room. He was asleep on his bed and I was debating weather or not to wake him. He looked sad even in his sleep. I sat on his bed. and gently shook him. His eyes fluttered open.

"Savannah?" He groggily said.

"Yeah. It's me." I replied. He looked at me in disbelief.

"No you left. You can't be here." He said rubbing his eyes. He sat up.

"No, no I'm back. Zack I came back." He stayed silent. He shut his eyes and then opened them wide then he left them drowsy like.

"For Jack?"

"No. Not only him. You too." He let out a breath.

"Mostly for him though I'd assume." He seemed like he was going to be nasty. I wouldn't put up with him if he was going to act like this.

"Zack I came to tell you I'm back not to hear you be nasty to me." I got up and started to walk towards the door.

"I don't mean to be rude or nasty but Savannah you left and you expect me to be all happy and what ever. No, it won't work like that. I asked you so many times to stay but you were only concerned about Jack and him not likening you. So don't expect me to be head over heels happy that you're back. I'm not blind. I know you didn't come back for me. It was all for Jack." He took off his shirt and started looking for another in his drawer.
