Close your eyes, do you see black?
Close your eyes a little longer, do you see colour?
Do you take what you said back?
About life being just an odor?

Violet's mother was far beyond disappointed and even a little mad for what her daughter had done - Charlotte felt numb and scared.

After a long wait at the hospital to see if Violet was even sane, her mother took her home after convincing Luke to leave her alone and her boss to let her leave for the day.

Violet felt slightly bad that she made her mother walk home and leave her to go back for her car later - but Charlotte was the one that needed to go home with her daughter.

The walk there was awkward, Violent was usually the one to enjoy silence. But when it was her and her mum walking down the street, the only sound being their feet and occasional sniffing - Violet found it awkward.

Her mother couldn't muster up the courage to say anything to her and Violet was in a bitter, sad mood and didn't even feel like acknowledging her presence.

After about a twenty minute walk, they had arrived home. Violet was about to just strut forward into her house and forget about what had happened because she didn't want drama, but her mother had pulled her back.

"I hope you understand that I'm putting you in therapy," she said and Violet only nodded sadly and continued her way until her mother stopped her again.

"Oh," she said, "and I don't think you should be near that Luke boy."

That only caused Violet to sharply turn towards her mother and send her a venomous glare.

Violet didn't understand, her mum was thrilled about Violet actually getting a friend and now she's being told to stay away from him?

Violet gets pestered all her life to socialize and let people befriend her, let her open up to people - and now, after years of waiting, she finally gets what her mother has been waiting for and she gets this?

Why? Because he saved Violet's life?

Violet held her glare on her mother for a good three minutes, her mother only staring back at her emotionlessly.

Violet huffed and then wipped her phone out, ignoring her mother's rude huff and eye roll.

"You are the most illogical person I've met." The monotonous voice of her phone spoke.

"Sorry, maybe that was sarcasm?" Charlotte scoffed. "I wouldn't know, maybe you should bloody well talk."

Violet's took a step back, offended by her mother's tone and bitterness. Why was she acting this way?

Violet only stared at her mum with a confused expression, her body frozen and Violet felt like her feet were stuck to the ground.

Her mother blew some hair out of her face and crossed her arms, looking at Violet with raised eyebrows.

Violet felt like laughing - was this her mother's way of asking her to speak? Didn't she live with Violet long enough to know that she won't talk, probably ever, especially not by being demanded.
