"This is all so unreal," Luke breathed, holding onto Violet's hand tightly.

"I know," Violet whispered back - a small smile on her face as she swung their hands back and forth.

She sighed happily and lightly kicked at the snow she and Luke were walking through, the temperature was extra cold since it was the early morning, and they were walking to school and it was wintertime in Canada.

"It's cold," Luke noted and he took a shuddering breath as Violet laughed.

"I'm used to it." She shrugged, smiling.

"Why?" Luke frowned, hanging his arm around her shoulders to snuggle into her warmth.

She rested her head on his chest and sighed happily. "I always walk in the winters, atleast I have been for 5 years."

Luke frowned, he knew that she stopped talking 5 years ago and he was scared whether or not to question her about it because he didn't want to hit a nerve.

"Um...what...what happened 5 years ago?" Luke asked hesitantly and Violet froze up - making him immediately regret saying anything. "No, it's okay, you don't -"

"It's fine." She mumbled. "My, uh, brother...he...died in a, um, car crash."

Luke's heart stopped for a split second and he felt guilty for making her bring that situtation up. He just didn't know it would be that bad.

Violet on the other hand felt a huge weight lift off her shoulders as she let out a breath she didn't even know she was holding. She knew he deserved to know, she knew (even though he hasn't been around for long) that he wouldn't judge her for it and he'd only be more happy to know.

"I'm sorry," he whispered - hugging her tightly and he just chuckled.

"S' okay." She whispered into his chest. "I just...I haven't ever been able to go in a car since."

"Wait..." he mumbled, "what do you do to get to places?"

"Well, I'm alright with busses and subways, because there's loads of people and I feel better, but not...not a car." She admitted shamefully, looking down.

"That's okay," he reassured her. "You're talking now and that's a start, maybe one day I can help you with the car thing."

Her body froze up at the thought and Luke noticed, he frowned and placed a kiss on her forehead. "It's okay. I'm a good driver, I never take my eyes off the road, I barely use my phone let alone drive and text and I don't drink."

Violet smiled at him and nodded. "Yeah, maybe one day."

______________

Violet felt a lot more confident today at school and people mist have seemed to notice, giving her small waves and smiles and Violet even returned some people's 'hello's which may or may not have caused them to drop their books and stare at her in shock.

The teacher's all swooned over the fact that she was talking and Violet started regretting it since they were trying to converse with her extensively and she politely told them that she's still trying to get used to talking and big conversations weren't ideal for her right now, to which they understood and immediately apologized.

Some people also saw that Luke and Violet were together by Luke shamelessly pulling her in for a full kiss on the lips in the busy hallway. She scolded him but he just laughed, pecked her lips again and left to go to his own class.
