Chapter Twenty Two - present

"I may not know who you are  today, but I did know you. I did grow up with you, for a short amount of time. I do know that this isn't you. This isn't the brother that I know, or that I used to know. This isn't you"

"3,2,1, up" I watched on, as that was all I could do, as my brother was lifted onto a board, before he was carried out of the arena. It had gone dead silent, until someone had started to clap, causing the arena to follow, as my brother was carried out. It didn't feel like something to celebrate, that my brother was being carted out, but I did feel relief. There was hope.

I followed him out, only to be stopped by someone that I didn't know. "I know this probably isn't the right time to ask, so excuse me, but I just saw your immediate jump to help, and I know this isn't at all related, but I want to see you do some more horse riding. I want to see what your capable of"

A man was rattling on to me, while I sort of just nodded, knowing that I didn't want to come back, after what I had just seen occur to my brother. I didn't want to be present to more of this in the future. I wanted this to end now. "We will have a think about it" a hand rested on my shoulder, and I knew from the voice of the person, it wasn't who I wanted it to be.

I shrugged his hand off my shoulder, smiled to the man, and then went to walk away, but the other man stopped me. "Are you the-" I stopped him from asking his question. "I'm his sister, Genevieve Anderson" and then I was walking away, because if Rocky wanted to handle it, he could. This was his forte, not mine.

I didn't even want to discuss it, when my brother had just been carted away to the medic center. I was squeezing and weaving my way through people, before I finally reached the medic area. When I reached the door, I knocked on it, as I couldn't see any of my brothers there, but not like many of them were there, as I was sure they should be making their way down from the stands.

Before the door opened, another person spoke to me. "Hey, Gen, I think we should discuss-" I stopped my brother with a shake of my head, and he looked confused. "I don't want to do it, Rocky. After what happened, I don't want to talk about it" and with that, the door opened, and I walked inside, leaving Rocky outside.

---

Sitting in the stands, was reliving. I had allowed for Miles to take over riding Misty, when it was Bailey's turn, as he had wanted to show Ryder and Parker up, as they had been letting me run the show for once. I was still shaken up, so when he had come over and wrapped an arm around me as he took the reins from me, I had let him.

Now, I was squished between Logan and Mile's girlfriend, Summer. Silas was supposed to be coming back up soon, as they were doing some final assessments when I left to go and get the horses, and Rocky had taken my place. I hadn't said anything to him about what the other man had wanted to discuss, and I wanted to leave it at that.
