T H I R T Y T W O | SAY IT, JUST SAY IT

"Ah, fuck, babe." Derek panted in my neck. Gasping for air, I let go of my tight grip on his body and relaxed in the bed. Derek's sweaty and hot body stayed on top of mine while we tried to come down from our peak. Kissing my neck, he slowly pulled out of me and wiped the sweat form his forehead. Tossing the condom in the trash, he collapsed on the bed next to me.

"You get me hot." He panted as he ran a hand through his hair. The only light shown in the dark was a small light in the bathroom. Giggling quietly, I kissed the side of his head. Exhausted from our activity, I laid in bed for a moment longer. Crawling out of bed, Derek handed me my nightclothes.

"I still don't understand why I have to put these on." He huffed as he slipped on his boxers. Jumping on the bed, he sprawled out on his stomach. Slipping on my clothes, I crawled back into bed.

"You know we can't let Andy walk in on us naked." I grinned. "How would you explain that?"

"I would tell him it's what adults do." He shrugged. Flicking his nose, I held in another laugh.

"You're insane." I grinned. Pulling me toward him, Derek nibbled on my ear. Feeling my body tingle once again, I pulled away from him.

"I'm sore."

"I'm all dry but you just get me hot." He huffed. Rolling my eyes playfully, I curled into his body. Playing with his hands, I listened to the sound of his heartbeat.

"What do you think will happen tomorrow?" I asked nervously. Yawning, Derek held me closer as he started to drift toward sleep.

"I think you'll finally get what you deserve. You may not like what you have to hear, but it's the answers you want." He responded softly.

"Do you think I'm making a mistake?"

"No." He answered immediately. "I think you would have regretted it if you never did. Who knows if he would have tried again?"

"I guess."

"Let's not think about that. Just think about how good I was to you in bed and how tired you are." He teased.

"Modest?" I laughed.

"My middle name."

"I didn't think you would come." My father admitted, running a hand over his dress pants. Instead of telling him, I drove around three times before deciding to park, I faked a smile.

"Here I am." Despite the awkward situation, happiness swirled in his green eyes. Swallowing, I looked away from him. To the public eye, he didn't look bad. He was a normal guy who was a father and a doctor; there was nothing odd about him. To me, he was the man who didn't want me.

Brushing my hair behind my ear, I followed him inside the café. We stood silently as we waited to be seated. My father looked just as nervous as I was, and somehow that was relieving for me.

Once we sat down, my father was a chatterbox.

"How's Andy?" He asked, changing the awkward tension. Smiling, I looked down at my lap.

"He's good. He's doing really well. We're waiting for his adoption papers to be approved."

"That's wonderful." He smiled. My heart fluttered in my chest and I looked down at my menu. "Are his real parents..." He trailed off awkwardly. Shifting in my seat, I pressed my lips into a line.

"They were abusive." I finally answered. "They were both alcoholics and didn't give Andy the proper treatment he needed. Derek worked with him in their special education classroom and they grew close. Derek noticed some bruises on him but he could only do so much. I got a call one day from Derek about an accident Andy was involved in. His own drunken mother hit him on the way of picking him up from school." Clenching my jaw, I fiddled with the wrapper to my straw.
