Vincent's whole mind was on this link Lily had with this guy named Thorne. The image of him using his spiked wooden club on one of the red jacket wearing soldiers automatically made his fists clench. Now one of his friends are linked to one of those douche bags. Great.

Who would link two opposing people together anyway? Doesn't these powerful ones before them see that they do not see eye to eye? What were they thinking?

Honestly, Vincent did wish that Lily describe what Thorne looked like. Maybe he fought against him? Maybe he was one of his victims of getting his in the nuts. Deep down, Vincent hoped he did.

To somewhat relax after that eventful day, Vincent agreed to study with his friends, Austen Lexington and Abraham Anderson. The two wanted to get on a Google Meets meeting to talk about each others homework. However, Vincent didn't have the same classes with them, so he didn't really see the point of joining them. He argued that, but with Austen being a good negotiator, he argued that it would be a good chance to just catch up on what each other is up to. Vincent hasn't really been present with the two at Lunch or Brunch ever since he became a Guardian.

Once every few minutes, Vincent would say a word or two to whenever either boys would want to bring him into the conversation, or solve a basic math problem. He would only give his ten percent in answering whatever they asked. His notebook and text book was sitting right next to his iPad with the meeting on, but his mind was not focused on any of it. He wasn't even fiddling with his rubix cube.

It wasn't until he suddenly heard Abraham now calling to him from the iPad. "Hellooo? Earth to Vincent?"

"Y-Yeah? What?" He stuttered, as he sat straight back up.

Abraham arched a brow. "You were thinking about your special person again, Vincent?"

"Who?"

"That girl you have been talking to."

"Yeah. All the time for some reason." Austen mumbled.

"Lily?" Vincent questioned after giving it a thought. "What about her?"

Abraham continued. "Has she been the one who has been occupying your mind for the past two hours?"

Somehow, his throat felt dried up like the desert valley. Weeks before becoming a Guardian Vincent would have denied it right away, but now he was speechless.

He had to say something to stop this. All he could fight back was, "So what if she is?"

Abraham cackled. "Awwww, does little Vincent have a crush?"

"Shut up, Abraham." He and Austen said in unison.

Abraham scoffed. "We are talking about Vincent, Austen. Why are you so worked up about this?"

His eyebrows furrowed. "Uh Because we have been friends ever since third grade."

"So you have a crush on her too?" Abraham argued.

"What? No." He immediately said, a bit too quickly that silently did not convince Vincent.

Abraham snickered. "Could have fooled me."

If Abraham is having fun teasing the boys, the why can't Vincent? He looked at Austens screen and asked, "Want to kick him out or should I?"

That made him regret his last words because he then panicked saying, "What?! No! We still have three chapters of Social Studies to do!"

Vincent sat back with a smirk. "Okay, you can do it without me since we are not even in the same class."

"Why is that, Vincent?" Austen had to ask. Vincent always managed to dodge this question. Whether it was by joking around or just giving a quick answer than either going to the bathroom or to get another snack from the lunch line.

"Yeah, You are not that bad at this type of stuff. You should be in the classes we have."

Vincent did want that to be true. He did want to be in the same classes as them. He wanted to be in with the crowd. He didn't want to continue being a outsider. But because of who he is, that wish he has had since he was in third grade probably is never coming true. He just has to lie, to protect himself from the embarrassment and now to protect his friends, from the horrifying truth.

"It's my parents." He sighed, leaning back on his swivel chair. "They are the ones that think that I need to be in different classes than you. The teachers seem to have agreed."

"But do you think, you need them?" Austen asked, curiously. "You are the person who is going to these classes."

He has never heard that sentence before and has always thought it in his own mind. It made his heart sink that someone else was able to understand that. His friends might be able to understand some things, but not the magical things.

Finally he said with as much confidence as he could, "I do think I need them." Vincent didn't know if he was lying at that moment or not.

Thankfully, for him, there was not other mention of Lily, or his classes throughout the rest of the weekend. The night before the Monday morning, was interesting to say the least.

Vincent opened his eyes to him in the sweats and sitting in the blue chairs that were in Mrs. Vespers classroom, but he wasn't in the classroom. The room he was in only had a light bulb hanging brightly above him and Lily who was sitting next to him. She was sitting in the same slouching position and sweats as Friday when the four Guardians were sharing their stories. There was even her saddened stare, like she was replaying a sad scene from a movie or a bad event in her life.

He only caught glimpses of her expression at the time, and yet it was so clear in his dream. Her freckles were so clear, eyebrows were full, chocolate colored eyes just stayed on the carpeted floor. Not even her fingers were fidgeting like it would when she was nervous. This link with that Thorne guy much have really messed up her mind, and Vincent wanted to ruin the next person who messed with it.

The dream was so vivid and clear that Vincent thought Lily would have been present in that same dream. Being Guardians allowed the four and unfortunately Arabella's group to connect by dreams. Last nights dream wasn't set in the bright pink forest or the night windy forest, but another aspect that goes on with the shared dreams is emotions are shared.

Vincent was able t0 feel fear and all sorts of anxiety and not just from suddenly being in that setting. It felt so strong and abnormal to him, that it could have only been coming from Lily.

As he got ready, got dropped off by his mom, and went to his first period, Vincent just kept on thinking of things to say after he asks Lily about this dream he had. He did hope he wasn't going to sound like a crazy person, but deep down he did doubt that he would after what she and everyone else has been through and done.

Right when Vincent entered Mrs. Clemonte's classroom, he did notice that everyone arrived there before him while they sat in their seats including a black haired boy who sat in a chair next to Vincent's, that he has never seen before.

"Who is this?" Vincent called out to anyone who was able to hear him.

Mrs. Clemonte was the first to hear and eventually calmed down the room to introduce the boy. "Students, meet Sebastian Grimaldi. A new classmate and Guardian."
