My best friend, my roommate, her sorority sister who is also my soccer teammate, and my sorority sister who is also Ashlee's bandmate were all in Miami for spring break. X brought his roommate and two of his other teammates that I knew.

We sat by the pool of the beach house we rented while the guys worked out. Xavier was shirtless with a pair of grey Nike shorts and a pair of running shoes. He looked so good all I could do was scream on the inside. After the trail ride, X and I spent even more time together, and he openly flirted with me. I don't know what type of time we were on but I liked it and my body was screaming for him.

So what happened with you and my brother 'cause I know what happened with his teammate and I," Ashlee blushed referring to Sam. They always had a crush on each other since freshman year and now I guess they acting on it.

Nothing, we showered separately and talked. He said he's always thought about being with me but when it comes to sex, I'm the type of girl he'll make love to." She explained feeling a chill down her spine

"My God," April said

So whatcha gonna do?." Destinee asked me

I want him so bad y'all but I don't know how to tell him." I confessed. "Just tell him. Yall pretty much put it out there already," Ashlee shrugged

You right, ima tell him," I said. As I was thinking of what I'm gonna say, X approached me from behind. "Hey ladies"

"Heeeey, X," The girls and I said together

"Lil bit, I was wondering if you'd step out with me tonight?"

"Yeah, we down. Right, ladies-

"Nah, mamas, it's just you and I" He said shyly

"Oh. Well, yeah. Where are we going?"

"It's a surprise but I can tell you put that dress on that be flowy and shit," He licked his lips. "Ok" She blushed.

Xavier smiled and ran back to his boys who seemed to be clapping for him and dapping him up. I was so in shock I didn't say anything. I just swung my feet in the pool water and smiled to myself.

-7:45 pm-

I had on an ankle-length white dress that flowed with the wind and hugged my body in the right spots. I paired it with gold accessories. my toes were painted white and I did a soft beat on my face. The shoe choice was cute sandals. I left the beach house and met Xavier on the pier.

I saw him standing on the pier and he turned around looking so good. He had on a pair of Air Force ones, a white tee, Nike shorts that showed the meat and a silver chain with his VVS grills i got him when he turned 21.

"You look beautiful, J. These are yours" Xavier handed her a bouquet of white and red roses.

"You always know what flower I'm into for the month" She chuckled and they hugged

Xavier never told me where we were going but he asked me to trust and follow him. We walked down the beach and there was a beautiful dinner on the beach set up for two. "Oh, X"

"You not supposed to be saying oh, x just yet mamas," He said with that smirk I love. He pulled out her chair and a waitress came bringing them drinks. Another waitress came and gave them the pre-made dinner menus. I realized X put three of my favorite dinner meals on here.

After we ordered we sat there in silence and waited for the food. Until it was broken. "Janerika, I think you're very beautiful" Xavier said but with lust dripping from each word he spoke

"And you are quite handsome, X" "Since our talk after the trail ride I didn't think you'd pick up what I was putting down, J, but I think you have"

"I have"

"But?" He raised a brow

"Why me, X?"

"Why not you? Yeah, we started off as friends but I've always had a thing for you. The lady I've watched you grow into. You're smart, you're beautiful, you taught me how to be a soft but masculine black man and you give me a safe space in a world where most people hate me. You make me feel alive. Every guy thats broke your heart, made me wish I stepped up sooner but I'm here now and you won't ever have to worry about being alone or hurt"

"Xavier, I--

"Let me finish woman" "I know that look you get when something upsets you, I know you rub your thighs and take slow deep breaths when I start to mentally stimulate you. When I'm with you and I see you critiquing your body like it isn't the most beautiful thing God ever invented, it makes me want to strip you naked in front of a mirror and make you realize how beautiful you are. I know what you've been through, J and I'm ready to heal you, baby. Will you be my girlfriend?"

"I love you, Xavier"

"I loved you then" He responded

"I love you now", I said

I'll love you forever." We said together, "If things go left, just be my friend til we get back together" He kissed my hand. Dinner was brought and we ate and drank up. Janerika didn't know what to expect next but they walked along the beach talking.

"It's one more surprise"

He led me to this secluded area labeled "Lovers Lane". It had a blanket spread out, rose petals, and tiki torches that gave a dim light but enough to see each other. There was also a Bluetooth speaker we could connect to.

"Xavier, I love you" She blurted out and hugged him

We took our shoes off and sat on the spread. I see why it was called Lovers Lane becuase it was romantic with a perfect view of the stars so big and bright with the sounds of the ocean crashing gently into the shore. "Can I ask you a question babe?"

He nodded. "Since you my boyfriend now. Can you fuck-- I mean make love to me now?"
