My heart in human form. I miss you and I love you. I got the pictures you sent me, little man is growing so fast. Have you thought of any names yet? I want him to be Lil Tate but I'm fine with anything as long as he's healthy. I want to write more but my commanding officer is coming so I love you baby and I'll be home soon.

I finished reading the letter my husband Larenz or Tate as everyone called him wrote me. I kissed the letter like I always did and rubbed my bulging belly that held Tate and I's son. Ive been having a tough time since Tate is deployed to Ukrain and I don't know when or If he's coming home. The more I thought of him the sadder I got but thank God my older brother and sister walked in.

"Hey girly," Vanessa said

Hey V, hey Gerald". Vicky sighed

We just stopped by to get you out of the house so get dressed." Gerald said

Guys, I don't feel like it, my feet are killing me." I replied

We can get you a foot rub and go to dinner at mom and dads. We just don't want you in the house stressing because you miss Tate." Vanessa said. They were right, I couldn't stress myself or the baby because I miss Tate. So with that being said, I got dressed and the three of us got into Gerald's tesla.

How long has it been since he's been deployed?." Vanessa asked. "August 24th of last year." Vicky answers

"Damn the day--

"Yep, the day after I conceived" We laughed

We've been driving forever, where are we going?." Vicky asked. I have to pick up my frat brother from the airport." Gerald said

Oh ok well I'ma get me a quick thirty-minute nap." I yawned

...
30 minutes later

Vicky," Vanessa said. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and saw we were at my parent's house. Vicky got out of the car and ran so fast to the bathroom that she didn't realize Tate's parents were there. "Whew I almost had an accident" I laughed

Oh, Mr. and Mrs. Tate how are you?." Vicky asked

When they didn't answer right away I got a knot in my stomach. Then I realized everyone was here. Was this the day I find out that my husband is dead? Am I now a widow?

Honey, Tate wanted you to have this." Mrs.Tate cried and handed her a teddy bear with the word

What's happened to him?." I asked shakily

Here's the other box," My dad and brother sat it in the middle of the living room. It was a tall box. Like a wardrobe. Vicky slowly opened the box and saw Larenz's uniform and dog tags.

Where is he?! I have to call his commander or someone. I have to go," Vicky ran outside.

She ran outside but stopped in her tracks when she saw Larenz standing there. All along he knew he was coming home and her family knew as well. I turned to look at them as they cried happy tears and took pictures.

Hey baby," Vicky jumped in his arms

I missed you so much, baby." Tate kissed her. That's enough you already giving me one grandbaby, come on in the house and eat." Daddy said. The family and I went into the house to eat. Every now and again I would look over at Tate and he looked nervous.

"Babe, what's wrong?"

No answer he just stood up.

Family, I have an announcement to make and I couldn't find the words so

Ahh!," Vicky screamed. "Vicky, are you ok?" Gerald asked

I think my water--ahh!!

We gotta get you to the hospital." Larenz said. The family did just that. They rushed Vicky to the hospital and she and Larenz were escorted straight to the 7th floor for labor and delivery. She couldn't believe it now was the moment to give birth and her husband came home right on time.

Next day
May 22nd

I rolled over in the hospital bed and didn't see Larenz anywhere. I looked at my phone and it was 12:01 am. Where could he be? As Vicky sat her phone back down she noticed a letter with her name on.

Hey, baby mother lol

I can't believe you let me have my junior. You did amazing during labor and delivery. Baby boy is healthy and he already looks so much like me. I have an announcement that I wanted to say at dinner but you interrupted me rude self lol. I want to be here for my babies. After almost dying in a explosion I've decided to go into the reserves. The only thing is I'll have drill once a month on Mondays, Tuesdays and Sundays. No more active duty. No more worrying if I'm coming home. Daddy's home.
