"How are we doing?"
A nurse asked as she checked how your vitals were doing.
"Well."
You muttered, as you sat up.
Glancing at the clock set above the door, you took a deep breath.
"Con Calma, he'll be here soon."
(Calm down he'll be here soon)
Your mother-in-law reassured you.
You gave her a small smile and she took your hand in hers, gently squeezing it. You took a deep breath in and exhaled, feeling a painful contraction. You closed your eyes and tried to relax, even though your back was killing you.

"Mrs. Alanis? A man named Oswaldo is requesting access to your room."
"That's my husband."
 You uttered, between short breaths.
"Oswaldo seriously wasn't kidding when he said he wanted everything private."
You giggled and replied softly:
"She hasn't even been born yet and he's already being a protective dad."
You were about to slip your hair into a messy bun, instead your suegra's fingers replaced yours as she braided your hair.
You smiled at her kind gesture.

Oswaldo's mother and sister were very supportive throughout your pregnancy. When you couldn't travel with him to away games, they would stay with you and keep you company.
"Estas lista?"
(Are you ready?)

"Quiero conocerla..."
(I want to meet her)
You said softly, slipping your arm around your stomach.

"Aqui? Si, Gracias."
The familiar sound of your husband's rough voice filled your ears.
He walked in, looking exhausted but he smiled once he caught sight of you. He ran his fingers through his messy dark hair.
Oswaldo was relieved he hadn't missed the birth of his first child.
"Nena, are you doing okay? Desculpa me mi Amor. There was so much traffic..."

You nodded your head and replied:
"We're okay, don't be sorry. I'm just happy your here."
He gave his mom a quick hug and greeted her, thanking her for being with you. Oswaldo pressed a long kiss to your forehead and placed a hand on your belly.
"I'll give you a second. I need to call your mother and tell her you're doing alright."
Your suegra said, standing up.
He took a seat next to you and took your hand in his.
"I'm so proud of you Amor. You did such an amazing job.."
You said happily, squeezing his hand.
Oswaldo chuckled and said: "You were going into labor, yet you still managed to watch the game. I have one badass wife if you ask me.."
You giggled at his compliment & replied: "I went into labor from celebrating. Luckily It's only a week earlier than the original due date."
Oswaldo chuckled and you slipped a hand onto his bearded cheek, he settled into your embrace.
"Are you ready?" You asked, feeling his breath quicken a little.
"I have never been more excited yet scared to meet someone before.."
"Don't be scared. You're going to be a great dad Amor."
Just as he was going to reply You winced and bit down on your lip, feeling a strong contraction. It was definitely time to call the midwife.
"Oswaldo it's time! Call the nurse please!!"
....
"She's so beautiful."
"I know, she has the same beautiful brown eyes as her dad."
Oswaldo was sitting next to you, holding your newborn daughter:
Olivia Catalina Alanis.
After three hours of excruciating labor your daughter was finally here, crying and healthy.
You pressed your temple to his chest, gently fixing her soft dark hair.
"She really loved your mom."
You whispered, he smiled and replied:
"I know, as soon as you wrapped your arms around her she stopped crying. When you handed her to my mom she was still happy."
After meeting her granddaughter. Oswaldo's mother decided to go back to the hotel she was staying at.
"She loves you too."
"Yeah, that's why when I held her she started screaming for her Ma-."
You nodded your head and nuzzled your head against his neck.
Oswaldo gently rubbed her soft chin with his finger.
The little one was sleeping soundly.
Only a few hours old, Oswaldo had already taken her first photo with his medal and posted it on Instagram.
@Osalanis:
Bienvenidos al mundo mi princessa.❤️️ Mi Mas Grande TesoroThe most amazing week of my lifeI can't thank you enough Amor,❤️️ @Y/I/N

"Esta trompuda."
He said with a quiet chuckle.
You laughed tiredly, he pressed a kiss to your forehead and said softly:
"Go to sleep Mi Amor, you're exhausted."
"Okay."
He pressed a tender kiss to your forehead watching as you quickly dozed off.
Oswaldo knew you had been up most nights, for the last few weeks of your pregnancy.
Olivia kept you up, she would kick and squirm around.
"I hope you can kick a soccer ball the way you used to kick your mom at night..."
He whispered softly with a quiet chuckle, the little one squirmed in his arms.
Oswaldo didn't feel tired, he was still amazed.
He just couldn't believe she was finally here.
Just as he was going to try to get some sleep, the little one awoke.
He gently rocked her back and forth, hoping she wouldn't start to cry.
She glanced at him drowsily, and quickly fell back to sleep.
"I just met you & I love you, so much you wouldn't understand."
