Saturday, October 19th, 2019

Sam's POV

"Hey, Sam, can I, uh, talk to you for a minute?" Stevie asked me. Mom, dad, Stacy, Chord, Mercedes, Brenda and I had been in the living room watching TV and playing with Sandy and the twins. 

"Yeah." I said, standing up. We walked out side and sat on the porch steps."What's up Bud?" I asked.

"Well, Mr. Schue wants me to perform a dance number on Friday, but I don't know how to come up with a dance, or learn a dance."

"Oh, so you want me to teach you to dance?" I asked.

"Sort of. I want you to dance with me. I can't do it up there in front of everyone on my own." He said.

"Well, if Mr. Schue said it was okay for someone to dance with you, I'll be happy to do it." I said. He grinned and hugged me. He let me go quickly."What, you can't hug your brother?" I asked sarcastically. He laughed and ran inside. I stayed out side for a few minutes longer, then went back inside.

"You ready, bro?" I asked Stevie as we got on stage. He nodded nervously. He learned the dance to 'Illusion' pretty quickly, which was his choice of song. The music started and we started dancing, us being the only people on stage. He started singing.

"That was awesome, guys!" Mr. Schue said as everyone clapped. Stevie leaned forward on his knees, breathing hard.

"How do you do all that without getting out of breath?" He gasped out. I laughed and clapped him on the shoulder.

"Lots and lots of practice. Brenda can do the dance to, just as good as I can, in heels." I said. Everyone looked at Brenda, who nodded and shrugged innocently. Mercedes waddled up the stairs, followed by Stacy and Brenda. Stevie and I got off the stage and sat in the fifth row with everyone else.

"We've been working on an original song together, yes, Stacy helped write it too. She wrote most of it, and it's amazing." Mercedes said, fixing the microphone stand in front of her. She was sitting on a stool, her belly very noticeable, and Stacy and Brenda  standing in front of microphone stands on either side of her.

"This is called 'Rise'." Brenda said.

[Mercedes:]
I used to be afraid of giving up
The road was just too tough
